I think it is very sad how disrespectful some are to McCarthy. One season some incredible saves gained us points where we stayed up. Making him player of the season. Yes he's rubbish at distribution but when he came all the fancy Dan football at the back was not the current fashion. Time has moved on and he does not fit in the current set up, but please give him some respect. Before I get the comeback re his salary, he was not the goon who waved through his massive contract (very quietly)I thought at the time that it was really odd. Forster did look shot as well and he had a little renaissance at the end, that made him popular again, fans forgetting his horror shows eg League cup final and others during that period.

we destroy all our keepers. McCarthy and Davis both players of the season over the years and got continually panned. I dont get the modern goalkeeper / defender how he has to be able to have ball skills rather than defend and allow the midfield and attackers to do the creative stuff.

Dont believe the hype of JWPs corner taking, the velocity of the ball made it very hard for a player to time the run to get on the end of it. There wont be a direct free kick taker to match him again for decades. As for penalties, I dont think JWP was the most confident doing it

the myth that a player who has come up from the youth system is a die hard Saint is a nonsense. JWP has it seems pushed for a move, as all of a sudden we have dropped our demands. That's fine as JWP whilst a brilliant free kick taker has IMO broken up more of our attacks than the opposition defence as he too often passes the ball in a negative manner. If he does well at WHU where the fans dont have the 'he's one of our own' tag then I will be happy to say I was wrong. Replace him with a progressive forward thinking midfielder who breaks into the box often not now and again and we've had a great deal. Thank you JWP but time is right for all parties
