  1. well having a points deduction that meant SFA is hardly true punishment for what they gained.I suspect 80+ clubs fans would swap what they have had in return for a 10 point deduction
  2. I would love to be wrong and await the day when lots of my fellow Saints fans can come on and give me jyp because i had been. If as has been pointed out above that the only sanction you are likely to get is a relegation and no pointse deduction, can I have some of that because 4 wembley trips 1 cup win and 5 seasons in the PL would be worth that. 20 years ago most Pompey fans would have taken relegation just to make the 4th round of the cup. I am cynical that there is a will to open up the can of worms that is PFC (I forgot the exra C for city, but there are plenty of spare C's when you talk Pompey) I suspect the leagues will flex their muscles and take on the might of Salisbury and Chester leaving the real criminals to skulk away
  3. That was the plan all along IMO. Then go and get promotion back to the PL. Then he would really ring the bell as the money to be had would be considerable. There does seem to be a lack of people really trying to take pompey to task. Even the FL seem to have at this time done nothing.
  4. are Inter mad???? how can such a poor manager get another top job? Although Raffas negative football of attrition will suit italy
  5. interesting revelations in the last couple of days it seems. The griffin thing looks to have put a spanner in the works. if it is being used solely as a negotiating tool to get AA to panic to up the offer would be disappointing. Anything less than a -10 points penalty would be a case of them really getting away with it.Real punishment for all the good times had would be relegation a couple of leagues minimum IMO. The new penalties that the FL are talking about will miss Pompey as they are already in admin. i still am reserving my judgment until I see what does happen in the coming weeks. it does seem a tad more encouraging that people like Storrie HR MM and co may be brought to justice. Westons news also makes one think that it is not going to be as easy as AA makes out.
  6. Seems to be looking for a reaction and good at doing so. No club splashes out yet. Why waste resources paying players wages over the summer months. i expect there will be additions to the squad.
  7. Nickg you do Nicks proud with those gems.Lol
  8. sad that our national team is not head and shoulders above a country that makes 'soccer' its 4th most popular game at best. Pretty pathetic really.
  9. Im not sure who would be most insulted, to be compared in that way
  10. So the club would not get the s/t money up front. Being cynical , a company providing the loan would know that trying to retrieve from the defaulters is an expensive business far more expensive that the money outstanding. IMO it would be human nature to push those back at SFC and say sorry these have defaulted now they are your problem. I can see the sense in your scheme if the club put to them 1300 fans and the total cost of the s/t's/. Zebra eg then pay the club the full amount and then they run each account. if it is defaulted then they would have to chase the money, they of course could factor this in, in their pricing. SFC would be happy as they had the money upfront with no costs , leaving Zebra with their interest but headaches if fans dont pay. Im sure if that second scheme was offered the club would be happy.
  11. Personally i dont think it is as you perceive it Stu. If fans have defaulted, add the administration costs (I think you estimated £50)to the club, I suspect htey have weighed it up and think it is better cut. Most people would think if we dont do the installment plan ,there are many other ways for fans to get that money and frankly if the installment plan costs the club 30-50k it is a saving worth making.
  12. Lol. Im certain he'll still get a ticket, he has been going for years. his friend he stands wiith really hates Lambert and calls him 'a f'in lazy ....' It is amusing as that is player who has scored and set uop more goals than anybody. Most fans around shake their heads at the stupidity. I recall him doing so and within a minute Lambert scored and to be fair he accepted he had been shown up and took the pi##take well.
  13. [quote=Corporate Ho;747989 Our fans are universally recognised as better than yours, we reached two cup finals and won a trophy and you hate it. get over it and you'll feel better They have been lauded in the past few seasons. I think as you have an ancient stadium that is so compact and unusual in the modern age, it does give the impression that you make a lot of noise. The Dell used to be like that, but we have now moved to a modern stadium where the facilities are up to modern standards. Sometimes that is to the detriment of the atmosphere. Some games the stadium is electric, but due to our position in the leagues the ground is not full it loses that....oh yours it not full either. We will see how you are perceived in the next decade or so when you are not lording it. I myself think that Alan Ball was the catalyst to your fans reputation. He encouraged the drums and bells etc when you were battling relegation and that got the tribal atmosphere going. Whilst there have been times that Pompey have tried to rid yourselves of like W******d, the club has realised that when things are going poorly you need him and his crew. As for universally recognised, i think if you watched the tv highlights of the JPT you would see what the main commentator thinks of our support.
  14. [quote=dubai_phil;748253 Oh and Nickh - Champers next time I'm back matey  one more day to go but it can be put in the fridgeFantastic news. Your hard work and nous has come to fruition. Good one. You can buy the Crystal and I will do the 6x
  15. thanks Stu, perhaps the club could charge an administration fee for people wishing to pay in installments. It still doesnt get over the faact that people may lapse their payments and would not want to have the hassle of pursueing their own fans. Not good PR either. It is a difficult situation
  16. isnt the landlord a skate. I went there the other day and there he was wandering around in a brand new Pompey vest.
  17. I cant wait for all the fans boycotting if we get to Wembley again, there wont be many who avoid paying the booking fee then Lol
  18. very good post Donkey
  19. Ho will point to the trophy cabinet, and the fans who have fed off the feeding frenzy or debt and corruption have lifetime memries that the rst of football would love. One day it would be great if the honours were stripped form them, added to their fall from grace down and down
  20. But the club may not wish to be tied to a finance provider as ML seems to be against that type of thing in his own life. I find it hard to beleive fans can't go and get credit , and there must be many lenders who will be delighted to lend, sadly at high pecentages. Sadly this board is like it was the last 3 years or so, fans threatening boycotts and harming the club financially. Stu should be commended for trying to get alternative options, but Zebra finance will not be doing it for nothing, and so the club would be out of pocket Are fans up in the air about interest free installments by the club? Isuggest if NC was trying to rip the fans off, he would leave the installment plan and add a 50 administration fee. You never know the plan all along was to offer that, after the hackles had been raised.
  21. Some of what you say may be true, if it was Wigan we wouldnt care and would like most others would not be interested in looking in depth into why you were allowed to trade on, even though for the 2nd time your club has robbed the butcher baker candlestick maker and charities.Being our local rivals we look into it more and it is with rightful incredulation our distaste that it has been allowed to keep going. Slowly the cesspit is being unblocked and little turds are are being flushed out. As the blockage is pushed through more is flushed out until the pipe is cleared. Your point reguarding our new owner is fair, the difference being that ML is making sure the club is to stand on its own feet. MM (where IMO the problems started) just spent and spent and it seems much of the debt was hidden. I recall just before MM sold the papers were mentioning 100m+ debt, but that was quickly brushed under the carpet and was rubbished.
  22. Stu Im trying to get my head around what you are expecting. Zebra collect the money and get commission/administration fee. Who pays these fees ? The s/t holder or SFC ? Would you be happy if the club ran the installment plan but charged a £50-100 admin fee? Or is the principle no interest/finance but at face value only?
  23. Can we replace his Ego, difficult
  24. i do agree the club could have warned fans earlier the installment plan was going , but I think ST holders have until august to buy, so time to make arrangements
  25. Stu but if they charge the club an administration fee there is a cost. You are happy to pay interest or an administration fee, but the majority wont. Remember when the free perk of buses to the ground were taken away. it become a god given right to free travel all of a sudden. That is the problem with giving out perks, every time it is taken away it causes much upset. Paying a finance companies interest is probably more that if the said people use a credit card.
