He got us very close to PL return, not helped by the politics going on. As for tactics, dont all managers use odd tactics?

Knowing Pompeys luck, the courier from the HMRC will take the papers to Dean Court and not the High court
-
I think after reading the hmrc response they will contest it. I am not an expert, and dont pretend to be, although in my field of business i would feel Iam
-
'We will now carefully consider our position following the chairman's decision to reduce the amount of our claim for voting purposes." Now that is a very interesting and uplifting response. The wording very telling what they think of AA's actions. I suggest that it may well be contested

So the blueprint for going into massive debt is, make sure you don't owe the banks but lots of small businesses who are fans. You can shaft them as they wont risk voting against you.The same happened at AFCB.

I wish him luck.No doubt some of our fans will be going on their fan sites to try and turn the knife and start unfound rumours about his nightlife

Wes Im sure that is fair, but also if you had read this site!!!!!! I must get Guinness book of records to get their stop watches out as it must be the longest burning of toast ever. AA and co...in fact the whole crew have pulled off a coup. How they managed to stop being wound up in Feb...oh I know have a firm of accountants in who find only half the debts, then when you get through that get another in who double the debts and still run rings around everyone, having a trip to the cup final and beating your biggest rivals in the meantime.

I just looked back to page 250 on this thread. it makes interesting reading in fact it is like Groundhog day

Well Chanria now has a half decent squad and club for a pittance. Now if you were a billionaire would you now risk 5-10m improving what you have to get back to the multi million pound riches of the PL, if not him the Ukrainians. it is not about infrastructure but having a presence in the PL that brings the money in. The CCC is as weak as it has been for many years with many clubs close to going pop.As i said it is all about timing and yet again it has fallen in Pompeys favour. Come on HMRC nows your chance to prove my doubts wrong

I saw a clip of Dame Helen Mirren talking about BP and glad that we didnt beat the US at football.Sad that our own are happy to Brit bash just to keep their careers on the up

I read that any creditors who did not reply are counted as a positive.Lets hope all the forms found all the creditors

Ginge I have trouble remembering last week let alone that time ago. Time will tell, but the world seems to let them do as they wish and nobody apart from us seem to balk at the way a 138m debt has been allowed to accrue.
-
I hadnt seen it elsewhere so thanks
-
I think that is fair and they have time and again thrown in a grenade just when they look safe. May it carry on, but we dont know quite what political pressure may be used in the background to stop them. The dirty world of dodgy business may have gone into many circles of hierarchy and power, and those transfer monies may have greased the palms of many in power not only in football and will not want it to come out. Conspiracy theory perhaps, but!!!

I ddint know that Hart had left Palace, was he sacked? Interesting how GB does, I wish him luck

Wes my post was not meant to be aimed at you per say but in general. If they get the CVA and so Chanrai can then get a laundered business with no debt he can then go out as any other club owner and splash the cash. The creditors will have no comeback as they have taken their measly return and watch as Chanrai goes and makes a load more from a zero position. The points deductions may come into play, but I suspect we all expected them to be on -10 + now. Timing is everything and it all keeps falling into place for Pompey. Malwhinney retiring must have been a great bonus for them as i think he would have had much to say, (convieniently Leicesters man took over, and who owns them??? sweeping under carpet time perhaps) I hope Im missing the point and they will get their comeuppance but as time goes by it looks that I may not be.
-
I do hope your optimism is rewarded. We dont know how far HMRC's will can be pushed. Their resources are thinly spread and with the state of the economy as it is i doubt they have money to throw about on this.Yes they are hoping to make a principle but Chanrai must have some brains to be so wealthy in the first place. I so want to be wrong, but so far nothing seems to have gone as we expect, and Pompey seem to be a different case to any in normal business practice and law.
-
How our sights have dropped over the months. First toast then no CVA and now last chance that HMRC contest it. Things may change very quickly but at present it looks as though Chanrai is going to own Pompey for nunpence and be able to push them forward to a PL return and get those riches. Chanrai IMO has given AA a roadmap that has so far worked. If points for financial regularities come into play that may well be a factor that Chanrai cant do anything about though, but if at the end of today they have Cotterill installed and those loan players from HR and Wenger they certainly do look chipper.

SaintsWeb Forum Match reaction and pictures - Home side 5-2 Away side
OldNick replied to Minty's topic in The Saints
It seems Oh so long ago now. I assume the extra pictures are being placed in Playgirl magazine for the girls to drool over before being put up on here Lol The DVD may be out soon -
it must be in the name MrG as most others think they will be.

Young Chamberlain is a long way from being part of a team that could run away with the league.I doubt AP is thinking on playing him as a regular. Antonio will rejoin us, if the very little I heard is correct.
-
So it looks more likely that somehow AA has pulled off a coup. Chanrai or another will put in 5-10m and they can get back to the PL riches. A decent gamble, as they have a strong squad still, even though a few have left. So AA's claims come to pass, they have overspent 138m,had 5 years in the PL 4 Wembley visits, watched a team of Internationals at a cost of 25m or less. Then to cap it all start a new season starting on zero points after receiving a penalty that never cost a thing.

Carling cup round 1 draw details - Bournemouth at home
OldNick replied to dellboypete's topic in The Saints
they will take at least 5k. They have been waiting for years to play us. A recipe for trouble, sadly it will make our meetings in the league more volatile as they will come down and play 'Billy Big Boots'. The rivalry will become more intense from our side I suspect and perhaps our fans will soft spot for them will not be so evident in future. I still dont count them as rivals, this will give them a chance to try and make it so -
Sure do, selfish cows

He never had the courage to come out and show himself . I dont want a long debate about it Geneva, I recall the cowardly attacks by the 'Freedom fighters' to some 'Terrorists'to me. The subject causes passions to rise and so it is best not to get too deep into it. I think I recall a bomb was defused in Southampton that was aimed at my brothers age group when they were targetting the countries nightlife in the 70's. The relatives have had their apology, something the victims from the other atrocities have never had.
