  1. Of course no other fans would get behind their team John, no fans get behind the team on a run to Wembley. I would have loved to see how they would have been if they had gone out to Coventry in the 3rd like they should have.
  2. i will bow to your knowledge
  3. she better enjoy her one jaunt in parliament, as she wont get another chnace
  4. Reading some of the replies, some of them are really clued up. Interesting that one mentions that the administration is what some of us said at the time that it smelt of a pre-pact deal. Shedding the debt but then coming out free of debt. A real s####y trick.
  5. yes he was on a lot more later, including showing his hat trick in the International match. He was introduced as one of the greatest skillful English players of all time. Also the Xavi article about how he thought MLT was the best. Having the gorgeous Shakira on also made me happy to watch the show. Mrs Crouch is a nothing and adds nothing to the show.As for JC, i find him as just a good lad who is engaging, not hilarious but far more talented than Lenny Henry
  6. The little I saw of the Germany game they didnt impress me. He called us stupid but they only qualified in the last game as well. Im happy that the team has not peaked yet and as the tournament goes on we may get stronger. The Argies are the best team i have seen so far but the other night they didnt look so good when Messi was man marked.
  7. 40m pa subsidy?????? That is scandalous, 800k a week. Im all for arts and culture but subsidising that at that cost is a nonsense
  8. It's galling, they just carry on as though they have had a parking ticket. No sense of having to act, and sit back waiting to take offers on their players but also in the position to refuse. They gave their creditors 20p in the pound and then act as if they have been fondled by a stranger in public if anybody dares to try and give them a bit of their own. Reading a post higher up, i notice that Sol and Hart and a few others dont seem to be part ofr the football creditors and so wont get their full amount. i wonder if they will join the HMRC and object. That is quite a bit of money that is being written off
  9. Capello was correct to bring Heaskey on, Crouch is not that good at holding the ball up, wheras Heskey can. As for Joe Cole, hos absence made him a better player than he really is.He came on and gifted possession time and again, then went for a pathetic shot when he should have taken the ball to the flag or at least held it up for support. I know Im in the minority not rating him, but that does not mean I'm wrong. I really hope he proves me wrong and takwes us to glory but i don't believe he will.Milner for me every time
  10. It was reported in the papers before MM left that the debt was 100m. That was quickly quoshed by MM as he was in the process of selling to Gaydamek. Only now we can see that the way debts have been hidden that it could have been true, especially as you say you sold nigh on £100m worth of players. Do not believe that it was only since gaydamek that there has been a lot of debt hanging around.
  11. From what the little i know of you from here BTF I expect she would be brought up correctly (not necessarily politically of course) I realise that she would not leech from the system. I would respectfully suggest to you that if things are tough now, she should perhaps look to move down, as if things are as they are now with low interest rates what happens when they start their slow climb.? It is terrible how property prices have risen so much in the last 15 or so years that we as a nation are looking down the barrel, and what will happen when they start to creep up again!!!
  12. to have Lenny Henrys mug looking at me everyday, makes me want him to disappear. Though somebody who has opinions and will give them is always good to have on here
  13. BTF, it is never good using your own situation to try and make a point. Im sorry your daughter had a no good husband, but Im sure if she has your brain and knowing her rights etc,Im surprised you/she has allowed this to happen. I also suggest she must have a large mortgage, especially as the rates are low at present. As for £60 a day nursery fees, is that standard money these days or is it a fancy dan one?
  14. You are right i couldnt care about Terry the builder as he is a Pompey fan,( and will not be really out of pocket as the bill he put in includes his profit). i don't think the people from cancer charities are though As for not coming on, well you both can dress it up as you like, but the real truth is you had nothing to come on and brag about. You disappear as soon as the going gets tough. If you never post agian on here i doubt you will be missed. Take a leaf out of MackRill 's book, he can be cutting but at least he does it with humour (sometimes). he also was here during the darkest days.
  15. The two companies were set up before there was any idea that the club would ever get into trouble, and it was'nt the reason to do so in the first place. Pompey carried on trading , building debts and telling the world they were solvent when patently they were not.Even with the spectre of winding up ,your club carried on loaning players and all that comes with it, instead of paying off schools and charities.Do not try and compare our two clubs , to try and shift your shame/bl;ame. i didnt read anymore of your post than that. You like your mates only come on when things are looking up for you.You have no credibility in my eyes. i think only Mackrill and Merovingian are the only 2 who came on during your dark times.
  16. Good old Harry not picking his own strikers even though Capello is likely to play De Foe
  17. Last night on sky they showed our countries debt and it was on a ticker as it carried on up, it was sobering. It is not the 175b that is widely peddled but close to a trillion. If you have credit card debts the longer it is left you pay massive repayments on the interest and that interest debt gets bigger until it is beyond you. We have to grab the nettle. i dont want to see anyone lose their job, but also I want to see more value for money. BTF mentions the big building companies worrying, well they will have to trim their prices and get the work. Tendering for big government contracts leaves big profits and the way they are set up only the big boys can tender and so to a degree it is a closed shop. If the managers started to do their jobs properly and got the staff employed to work to their best as in the private sector then we would perhaps make the public sector more dynamic and save costs ,then jobs. It has been widely reported that the public sector has more sick days than the private sector, why is that? I believe there is not a public worker who does not have a story of stupid waste of our money and in their heart of hearts know it can be improved. I was glad the lower paid in the public services got rewarded for their hard work and now the higher paid public servants will find things a bit harder, time to get in the real world IMO.
  18. I think if you saw them you may change your mind. A bit bling in my opinion but it is for footballers
  19. I think it is time to change my user name. Im never sure if people get confused and mix Mr G and myself up and think it is the same poster. I will see if it is easy to change my user name, if so it is time for change
  20. They are being censored by the North Koreans. Kim doesn't know don't know whether to show pictures from their game with Portugal or the home sides devastating display against the away team, both were obviously one sided but the Forum game would show a little resistance
  21. Trousers, the thing is we all know if that did happe n the police would either take no action or the perpetrator would get a 25quid fine and 5 hours community service. Do not tell me he would get 12 months inside. That is why I believe it was harsh
  22. I wouldnt be surprised if Cole or Terry are not in the starting line up. Capello may wonder if he looks weak if he now plays Cole. Another thing I noticed in Terry's interview, when he said about leaders he said himself Lampard Gerrard but omitted Rooney. Perhaps they dont get on
