Questions that should be asked; - Why a 3 year extension for Stephens - Will you be signing a new number 1 GK - Is Dragan’s legal case with United Group effecting the club in anyway financially or otherwise - Are you planning to keep any of our worthwhile players, or can we expect all of Fernandes, Ramsdale, Dibling and THB to leave - Will the glaring lack of competent wide players / creative midfielders be addressed before Wrexham, or are we going to hamstring ourselves by not getting our squad sorted until mid to late September Questions that will actually get asked - Why aren’t you throwing money at the women’s team - can we put padded seats in the away fans section - “I’ve supported Saints for 65 years etc etc…. Why can’t I get free parking on match days” - Why aren’t we expanding the stadium

Does feel a shame when an academy product goes before we see the best of them, but £35m+ would probably be a good deal. Not signing a new contract, not convinced his heart was in it after Martin left. Will be interesting to see if he fulfils his potential or if he drifts off into obscurity.

We’re playing a different style to then, which requires a different skill set. Also disagree that we are ‘sorted’ for a midfield three if Fernandes, Charles and Downes stay. Fernandes best position isn’t a 10 - we still very much need reinforcements there.

I think it’s better to start judging them on the here and now, playing for the manager who is here now and the way he wants to play now. Archer scoring 18 in 40 several years ago has no relevance to whether he suits Still’s tactics. BBD’s one good season several years ago has no bearing on his confidence and belief now. Armstrong scoring as many as he did two years ago has no relevance to his desire to be here and want to play for the club now. It seems clear Still wants to attack from the wings and get balls into the box. This relies on having players who have pace, can beat a man and deliver a final box into the box. BBD, AA, Archer are not those players. Fraser maybe, but he was better as an impact sub two years ago, so god knows what he’ll be like now. Edozie is all fart and no shit and has been his whole career. Saying “we’ve got a great squad on paper” means nothing if they don’t fit into what we’re trying to do.

Fair enough, I just don’t think even with Dibling and Fernandes (who probably won’t be here in September) there is enough creativity in the team. Robinson, at 18 and no real first team experience, looks like our best creative outlet.

The attacking three behind the strikers are an absolutely critical need for new signings. 2x wingers and an attacking 10 are musts, if we don’t we’ll be going nowhere.

I thought he criticised him for poor distribution/decision that led to their attack / goal. Respect your opinion, but I disagree that he doesn’t save that James shot.

Maybe the new GK coach has had a positive impact? Though I remember him looking good in preseason when he first joined, and it went downhill from there. It would be an unnecessary gamble if we didn’t replace Ramsdale. Though it wouldn’t surprise me at all if he was still here come September.
