Bearing in mind we haven’t played with a ‘big man’ since Pelle left some 8 years ago, it’s no wonder it’s the best you’ve seen for years. It’s also good not to go into his goal record for us, on the basis he hasn’t got one.

Absolutely spot on. Our disallowed goal at Brighton is another example. Think someone said it already, but that fact we’re stinking the joint out and rock bottom must make it easier for refs to not give us decisions, on a subconscious level.

We already did that in the summer window and it’s got us to where we are now.

Find it hard to believe we weren’t sounding him out, especially as he was allegedly our first choice to replace Ralph.

It’s also not ‘luck’ and a ‘lottery’ win that others state either. We got what we deserved, promotion. He was in charge of that, so should get credit for getting us up. Clearly he was woefully out of his depth at this level and righty sacked. Some people (not you by the way) seem to be all or nothing either way. It’s ok to say he did well last year and absolutely garbage this.

My understanding was it’s a hamstring injury. Not uncommon for prior injuries to cause new ones due to weakness/adjustment etc. That being said, wasn’t his lengthy spell out last season (after his initial comeback from the long term Achilles) Hamstring related? I suspect there is a lot more to it and we’ll never find out the whole truth. Shame really, at the end of the hilarious jokes and club derision for money wasted, there’s a clearly talented footballer whose lost the best years of his career and may not play seriously again.

Except for the one, critical, aspect you want from a striker.

Archer in for Armstrong and that’s probably our best XI if we’re going to be 5 at the back under the new gaffer.

We’ve got 6 homes games that we would have to win all of you’d think if we were to have a chance - West Ham, Brentford, Wolves, Palace, Bompey and Fulham. Plus Ipswich and Leicester away. That ain’t going to happen. Not forgetting that our squad is pretty crap for this level.

Not a big follower of Italian football, but am I right in saying he followed De Rossi after he got sacked, and fans never took to him because they worship De Rossi and hate the ownership? Could be thinking of someone else.

Second choice to the best pound for pound in Europe. How lucky are we!

The irony of this is fantastic.

Massively overstating the ability of saints players on a make believe computer game isn’t something I’d be shouting about. Going back to the original point, id be interested to know your opinion on; - do you think someone, who has spent pretty much all their career in rugby performance, is suitable to be heading up football operations at a premier league football club? - would you expect a head of football operations to be heavily involved in football decisions? E.g. picking and appointing a new manager? - do you believe the current DOF has the credentials to successfully pick a manager? - do you think the management at the top level of the club right now is acceptable? - what do you think about the SR ownership right now and do you think the club would benefit from having someone highly experienced in running a football club involved in day to day affairs at SFC?
