When he took Wood off (who I thought was our best CB today FWIW) for Stewart, I’d have take off THB or Stephens for Quarshie as well to protect against the quick break. On the crosses into the box, thought the CB’s defended those well today.

Like I’ve said before, Charles, Downes, Fernandes are all the same. Bits and pieces midfielders that aren’t great at shielding the defence/tackling or creating/arriving in the box. Offer next to nothing at either end of the pitch. As well as an AM (how can an 18 yo be our only creative option FFS), we need a DM too. Downes can sit on the bench. When he wasn’t laying on the floor, he was blindly turning into the opposition.

We’ve got an 18 year old as our only creative outlet, we are desperately short of creative options. Stoke looked like a settled team that have been managed by a very good manager for 9 months. Thomas and Manheouf would walk into our team at the moment. Yet despite that, we still created enough chances to win today. The guy needs time with a settled squad and hopefully we will start to see some improvement in performances and patterns of play.
