Because he seems to be the only player capable of finishing..... Fellows on right wing And Scienza on the left wing. Matsuki on the bench.

Being a Saints fan right now feels like punishment. Bournemouth flying. Nathan Jones somehow climbing the table. Meanwhile… us. I don’t even know where we go from here. At the start of the season, I was optimistic, thought maybe Dragan had finally wised up and decided to build some actual football infrastructure. But here we are. My thoughts on what’s wrong: Will Still. I just don’t rate him. The first pre-season training video I watched, he looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Nervous, uncomfortable, completely on edge. If I’m sitting there feeling sorry for the bloke, how are the players meant to feel inspired or fired up by him? And don’t even get me started on the tactics. The selections are bizarre. 5 at the back coward bullshit. Playing Fraser at right-back when we’ve literally got Rørsløv sitting there? Subs all over the place. Leaving out Robinson and Matsuki who were two of the few bright sparks in pre-season and against Norwich. It just doesn’t make sense. And then there’s the inexperience. A whole coaching team that looks out of its depth. You can see it on the touchline no control, no confidence, no plan B. And don’t even get me started on player signings. We brought in Downs… I’m not even going to comment further on that. What a ridiculous signing. Sports Republic are trying to be clever — trying to be hip and innovative — but it’s like Groundhog Day. Same mistakes, different season. Too many players with weak mentalities. Too many bottle jobs. We needed a manager with real experience at this level. Someone who could’ve steadied the ship, got us solid, and given us something to build on. But honestly, I’m starting to think Sports Republic will only ever appoint yes-men. People who won’t challenge the nonsense — just nod along and hope for the best. Can see us going down and spiralling it really wouldn't suprise me.

That lad in the under-21s keeps banging them in — I’d rather see him on the bench than Downs. What’s the harm in giving him ten minutes? Matsuki can’t even get a look in. Thought he was one of the few bright sparks in preseason — even scored a banger against Norwich. We’re not getting promoted this season. I'd be tempted to explore the loan market now to bring in a centre forward.

The thing that’s irritated me most is the whole striker situation. We’ve splashed £7 million on a player whose scouting report literally says he has no obvious strengths. Am I missing something here? Is it wind-up season? We’ve basically paid a fortune for a mannequin who can’t head the ball or do the basics. Who knows, maybe this’ll come back to bite me. Maybe he’ll surprise us all and start banging in goals for fun… But watching his YouTube highlights? All I saw was a bunch of tap-ins my nan could’ve buried. As for Ross Stewart, we all knew he was made of glass. Sure, we were hoping for a resurrection — and when he banged in those two goals, I thought, yes, that’s the player we signed. But alas, it seems the man’s allergic to grass. I’ll say this until I’m blue in the face — we’ve lacked a focal point up front for about three seasons now. Sports Republic, Spors, Dragon — wake up and smell reality. Stop trying to be clever with “potential” and “resale value.” We need an experienced striker who’s proven at this level — someone aggressive, a leader, who can actually head a football. Whether it’s terminating Stewart’s contract or loaning out Downs, the time to act is now. We can't afford to wait around hoping Downs can play football.... Otherwise, we can kiss any hope of promotion goodbye. That’s my opinion — and I’m sticking to it.

We need someone like Mitrovic / Pelle / Chris Wood. Some with a bit of actual presence and strength about them and can actually head a fucking football 🤣🤣🤣

Thoughts so far: Damion Downs is not a footballer... Roerslev, Jelert, Azazz, Fellows, Players we signed and are not making the 1st team.... Fellows and Azazz two top performers in this league.... now look average! Our coaches sure know how to knock the ability to play football out of players...... Robinson and Matsuki, two stand out performers in preseason nowhere to he seen ... As for Still, has the charisma of a wet weekend. If I'm falling asleep during pre-match and post match interviews what are players thinking would you be motivated by him? I wouldn't 🤣 The two wins we got were not done convincingly.
