Noodles34 Posted 29 June, 2009 Share Posted 29 June, 2009 your hero being strung along by a bunch of chancers? God, I hope not, but if Pinnacle don't sign the deal tomorrow how will Matt come out of this? You can take absolutely nothing away from what he has done for this club as a player and even since (Sky News when Saints beat Sheff Utd) but as another D Day approaches what happens if we find out that Pinnacle have wrecked our club and Matty was spearheading (and I use spearheading in the sense that he was just a 'figurehead') the group. Is/Was Matty so wrapped up in the thought of being Mr Chairman that he either failed to see what was behind this group or ignored what he saw behind the group? What happens if we find out that Matt was in ona campaign to take over our club which was built on exaggerated truths and fly by night chancers, because thats how they currently appear to me. And it is tragic that if I am right (hope I'm not) that the great MLT was part of it, innocently or not as the case may be. If it all falls through, how will history judge Matt on his part in Pinnacle and more importantly, how will we?
Webby Posted 29 June, 2009 Share Posted 29 June, 2009 For me, Matt will always be a Saints legend. 'nuff said.
saint_stevo Posted 29 June, 2009 Share Posted 29 June, 2009 for MLT read the same as a lot on ere, blinded by the chance to save the club, but couldn't see it for what it really was He will still be remembered as the great player he was, a True Legend
dan17 Posted 29 June, 2009 Share Posted 29 June, 2009 Le Tiss has only ever wanted whats good for Saints. IMO he is untouchable and if the worst happens, there will be no blame from me whatsoever.

fareham saint phil Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 His passion for Saints is clear for all to see thats why there is no blame attached to him, cant think of a better figurehead for a chairman
Rocker268 Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 I think he has tried to do what he can for Saints, and for a long time has been the figurehead of Saints best chance. Should this not come off, I don't think anyone should hold it against him, because he stuck his neck out trying to save the club he loves
Ken Tone Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 I won't blame Matt in the sense that he is clearly trying to do his best for the club. However it is ironic in the bitterest sense that his association with the pinnacle bid is what has given it credibility, so if it turns out to be duff as now seems more than likely, the harm that the past 4 or 5 weeks' timewasting has caused the club will be partly down to a man that loves it. Even if it goes ahead today there has been real pain caused to some ... think of the poor unpaid staff for a starter. So, no I won't blame Matt, but I'm unlikely to ever do a business deal with him! The9 Posted 30 June, 2009 Share Posted 30 June, 2009 your hero being strung along by a bunch of chancers? God, I hope not, but if Pinnacle don't sign the deal tomorrow how will Matt come out of this? As someone who believed in something too much. Does nothing to change his status as a Saints legend at all. To be honest I don't even want him as Chairman anyway.
