Do we have the worst opening day record in the country???

Well we didn't win the first match of the season... but we never do.

I have supported Saints since the end of the 60's. In that time I can only remember 3 victories on the first day of the season. We beat Coventry away 1-0 about 10 years ago, we beat West Ham in the late 80's under Nicholl and I think we beat West Brom in the season we went on to win the Cup.

Have there been any other opening day victories that I have missed? Does any other club have such an appalling first day record as us??

I blame Alright_Dave for making a 6 hour drive, time for a couple of pints and then straight to the stadium to apply his jinx on the team !

He will be at the Northampton cup game as well so please don't waste your money and bet on us to win !!!!

(Despite hundreds of pounds and tens of hours travelling, he has not seen us win for more than 3 years !!). Sad but true!
