Saint Charlie Posted 26 October, 2009 Share Posted 26 October, 2009 As title, Jake Thomson to join Torquay on month loan. Thats about his level IMO. Quick but so lightweight and poor final ball. http://www.torquayunited.com/page/News/0,,10445~1838268,00.html Interesting to see how he will do. LeBenali Posted 26 October, 2009 Share Posted 26 October, 2009 Makes sense, nowhere near the team with Papa and (the presumably extended loan of) Antonio. Could be a very big month for his career what with January coming up!

Huntingdon Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 In all fairness, his chances of 1st team action are pretty slim with Papa & McLaggon. That's not even considering Antonio possibly staying longer
M271 Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 I thought that he played well for the Trinidad U21s a few weeks ago, he was according to the commentators their 'star' player. However there is a big difference between that and the 'heavy weight' play of Div 1. I hope that he does well at Torquay and comes back the better for it as I think that he has good potential. In Pardew we trust.
S-Clarke Posted 27 October, 2009 Share Posted 27 October, 2009 Confirmed on OS http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1838969,00.html ...looks like it may turn into a permanent deal too, according to the local paper down there ''TORQUAY United have signed Southampton winger Jake Thomson on loan. The signing was due to be completed on Tuesday. Thomson, 20, is joining the Gulls for a month initially, with a view to an extension and possibly a permanent deal.'' Chez Posted 28 October, 2009 Share Posted 28 October, 2009 Far far too lightweight at the moment and not impressed me at all. I think he's going to need a lot longer than a month to develop into the sort of player that can make a real difference to us. The one thing we need to be careful over is not to leave ourselves too short for the JPT game as we don't really want to be overloading our first team with games.
