There used to be Three old mock-up Saints songs flying around

One of which was Shoot the Pompey Scum (to Come Undone by Robbie Williams) does anyone know where I might be able to find them, or does anyone have these songs that they could send me from their pc/lappie/mac? They used to be on Saints Fun but I couldn't find the site and Google found me nothing!

Thanks in advance!

Chris

Is anyone able to actually help and paste a relevant link?

I haven't been able to find those songs for aaages mate. The last place I can remember seeing them was on saintsawaydays.com, but even that has come to an end now.

Someone must have the files saved somewhere, but it might take longer than a few minutes for them to reply...

Does that song actually have anything to do with Southampton?

Yes. They were a London band but lead singer Fred was from Southampton and massive a Saints fan. Was quite an anthem in indie circles in the early 90s. It was great to hear people singing along to the line "And the Saints are playing at home today" back then.

Summers, the song was written and sung by a bloke called Martin (Not a band from london) who used to post on the old board.

Milan Mandric had him arrested (Dogs and all) for a particular line in the song, that he claimed caused racial tension (I think the charge was Inciting Racial hatred or something equally stuipid) ;

"Milan only bought them cause it reminded him off home"

All copies at his home were destroyed, but still plenty floating around Southampton

Nah youre right, he never hid it under a bushell :)

He recorded my mates song for The Saint, (Rudi, Rudi, Rudi). But my mate didin't like it so hired out a studio and redid it with a cameo appearance by a certain poster on here.

Met Martin, nice bloke.

youtube wont have it as not a video file, mp3. any suggestions

If you have something like Window's Movie Maker or something similar, you can just have a background for a few minutes with the song, the MP3 file, as the audio for the 'video'. Then you will be able to upload it as it will be a video file.

I remember them being interviewed in the NME in the early nineties and comparing themselves to Saints (at that time) something about being a great attacking side that were always entertaining, but didn't get the media attention they deserved.

The Valley Slags.... A certain RC on vocals and Perry from The Flying Alexanders on lead. I remember the video was of the band playing on the roof of one of the Weston Shore huts, a cheeper version of Beatles/U2 playing on the roof in NY and London.

I've got the CD here somewhere should you require any more info.

You can buy a compilation called super Saints on itunes which has the bring him on for England track on it! I have such fond memories of Murph's RW rip off, some lads in the brothel we ended up in after the Bucharest game had it on them. and seeing a load of young beautiful east european hookers slow dancing and snogging each other to it as it was blasting out from the DJ will stay with me for ever!!
