No, I started this thread as I came across the story on the internet and thought it could be a nice thing to discuss whether Le Tissier would be a capable coach or whether it would be a bad idea, I was open minded on the issue and prefered to see how it unfurled. You made some very fair points on the issue to begin with but then predictably as you made a contribution the descenting from other forum users began. Frankly, I intended no personal slight at you for wishing this thread to be closed, but it had clearly gone way off topic and had become another 19C bashing thread. You may have noted I have not directly addressed you or contributed to any issues you are discussing recently, that is because I would rather stay clear of the whole rediculous and purile nature of the arguments you usually attract (even if it is not by intent, you are a somewhat sensationalised figure on this forum, other people react to you as much as you do to them,) but in this case I will make an exception.

 

Your need to attack me for stating my dismay that this innocently started thread had turned into a total trollfest is utterly unneccesary. I expect an appology. I do not expect one but my personal opinion of you would certainly improve if you could show me that you are willing to get off your high horse and show some capacity for empathy.

 

Colin, the trouble is you contribute to the 'bashing' by refusing *****il now) to support that I may have a reasonable argument. By your own lack of public recognition and avoidance of getting more involved with what you started feeds the puerile nature of the arguments against me and if it sensationalises me then that is not my intention and never has been. I may knock certain ex-players, directors and managers but equally there are many more I support and my love for the club does not and never will exclude me from forming my own unbiased opinons about those who we elevate for whatever reason.

 

I apologise if I have got you wrong but your call to have the thread closed seemed somewhat defeatist in my opinion but my post was not mean't as a slight on your character and if you took that to be the case then I am sorry. I do however, standby my opinion and do not consider I have turned this thread into a trollfest for simply suggesting that MLT is neither qualified to coach internationals or that a specialist coach solely for penalties is needed at this level.

I really can't be bothered to respond beyond saying that you could do with a sense of humour transplant. Your old one is worn out. I don't think that they do them on the National Health, so you might need to go private.

Human nature and I am no different on this occasion especially when the original 'humourous comment' was actually delivered with deliberate harmful intent IMO. Funny yes, but in the context it was delivered, I'm not so sure.

Was Gemmel's post delivered with deliberate harmful intent? It escaped me. I thought that the point he made about the amount of money spent on those other minor fripperies against the expenditure on Dementia is scandalous if true. Sometimes by holding it up to ridicule by using humour as the vehicle, you achieve far more than if you write a serious but boring piece.

 

Anyway, as you say, I am happy to exchange festive wishes to you and yours and the same for all the other posters on this forum. I hope you all have a great day with family and friends tomorrow and here's to three points on Boxing Day.

There was no malice what so ever in my post, you may have noticed I even bolded the "good laugh" quote from your text.

 

Your original comments to "View from the top" regarding mocking the afflicted contained some valid points (Although heavily laced with hypocrisy) but as previously mentioned you have past the point you can start complaining when people get personal......and that's entirely of your own doing.
