see echo lost the plot one.

Agreed Nick, but in one way, even if true it can do no harm to Cortese's reputation, let's face it ..what ordinary person would turn down AC Milan for a League 1 side?.

I was beginning to think that words like honesty and loyalty had been deleted from the dictionary.

Thanks to the Echo for highlighting our Chairmans dedication.:D

Very senior sources at Milan are -privately - saying he was never approached.

its strange, I know senior sources at Milan talk to a lot of us, but what I don't understand is why they are saying different things?

FF - think you need to have another chat with Beckham to check you didn't misunderstand?

Nick it seems you want to bring your hero worship to your levels. However,

I will name where my information on this originated -

"I have spoken to Giancarlo Giorgetti this morning and he denies having ever discussed Cortese with Berlusconi. Indeed, he has never met Cortese".

Is that a quote, FF? Or do you mean that you yourself have spoken to Giorgetti?

You seem to have the bit between your teeth..Duncan.....You appear to really want to belittle NC...... For some reason you come back on this subject out of the blue........look at me..Look at me....stating NC is not going to AC Milan....You do not have a clue who may have spoken to NC about any job opportunities in Italy....

Who really cares if The Italians are interested or not...NC is our boss and thank God for that....For some reason you have taken it upon yourself to start a concerted campaign to go after NC....Do you really think he cares whether you have spoken to Luigi down the restaurant or not....

Sorry..meant to say, Giancarlo ....Most supporters had forgotten that The Italian Parliament had asked someone to lure NC to Italy in order to save the once great AC Milan or Juventus or was it Roma... Maybe Not true in Milan..Who knows..

I would hazard a guess NC, will not be talking to you or Murray on this subject....

Most fans will only be too pleased that NC is staying with the Saints....For many a year ..hopefully.

Your posts of late have frustrated the hell out of me...I used to idolise you in a way as you were a big part of the club that I have supported for so many years..

More importantly I looked forward to your posts and info which appeared to have so much credibility ..

Lately you have shown that you have a personal and may I say.. what appears to me a rather childish streak in you that in my opinion looks very much from the same Nursery as Rupert Lowe and Ian Murray.

I think it is fine for some to be cautious of NC, what harm is there in that ? it is still early days and if previous years have taught us anything it is that people are not always what they portray, should it transpire that an ulterior motive existed in the creation of the rumour what will some think then ?

The problem is that FF probably does not like the Bull**** PR put out by Football Club chairman to woo the fans.

I am very pleased that NC is staying although I did not really expect him to go but that does not mean that sometimes perhaps he spouts Bull**** whilst being interviewed

Does not mean we dont suuport the Saints.

John a very apt statement in view regarding Buuulllshiiit ..bearing in mind what we have had with Uncle Rupert for so many years and what your mate Storrie down the road has been spouting for a while now......:smt090

It is a fact that Duncan and myself support the Saints:smt057

I don't really know you John .. Although your posts suggest you strongly support any thread that attacks anything Saints...

Dearest Ottery

I never went away.

I think you misinterpret me and my motives.

I was and remain delighted we were taken over by ML and NC.

I believe ML to be honourable and benevolent in his intentions and NC to be a very shrewd and able Chairman. We could have done a lot worse for sure. I hope NC stays forever if it means Marcus is here for the same time for we will get nowhere without a wealthy backer.

But, by the same token I don't believe everything that we are told. The Wilde affair proved to me how gullible we all are (myself very much included) when we are given what appears to be good news regarding our football team, and since the Wilde debacle, the Paul Allen fiasco and the Pinnacle near disaster I tend to keep a wary eye out. I think you have to these days in fotball as nothing seems to be what it says on the tin.

The only people in this for 100% love are the fans - everyone else is in it for different reasons. That is why the fans always get hurt. Right now things are going well but I remain cautious, especially with what's floating around in the breeze. Already Cortese has enemies inc the local newspaper so that has to be taken into account.

I believe this Italian malarky to be a bit of spin that went a tad awry.

Sorry, I would love to the revert to the days when all we worried about was how many Ron or Matt were going to score and what song shall we sing. Maybe it's because I am getting old and cynical. Mind you I am still going to home matches and have never been to so many away matches in one season before.

Duncan

Much appreciated.....I did not intend it to be a personal attack on you..

I was trying to stress that I believed you had appeared, in my eyes, to have almost become a gofor on behalf of Mr Murray and playing into his hands when he carries out his silly little attacks on NC......Hopefully my misguided view about your intentions/ motives.

I know full well how big a fan you are and like me, for many, many years and a few more to come:smt057

I still strongly believe that NC and ML are honourable men and want what is best for The Saints and no doubt themselves....:) They already clearly seem to be getting a lot of pleasure at the little sucess we have had so far...A few days out at Wembley will do wonders for their everlasting love of the Saints as fans......But then you and I know what it was like at the old Dell or our Wembley appearances..... so far:)

It does worry me though when a respected Saints fan like yourself, appears to have had a spat with The club/NC, as your posts attracts many of The Lowe gang, Pompey agents and Murrays firm in that they feed off the ammunition to further attack our great club.

COYRs

I do not subscribe to the view that we believe everything that comes from the club and we have a voice..in the right areas....But I will never feed the trolls.....

What does supporting the Saints actually mean.

When I was younger I watched the Saints regularly both home and away and was a season ticket holder for a short time.

Now I am older and live away from Southampton I watch them sometimes and when I am at home follow each match on the Internet if out during a match contact my brother by phone to find out the score.

In 1978 our promotion year I went on a three month trip to Asia and Australia but managed to find out the Saints score in each of their League games somehow or another .

At the moment I just feel that the team is missing something probably players with class that can alter a game though being in League 1 I maybe deluding myself.

I dont think we are doing badly but getting back to the Premiership in four and a half years seems very remote and will take hard work not just buying in players

I saw somebody suggesting that after the Norwich game we will be unbeaten to the end of the season although I would like it to happen from experince things go wrong and matches are not won like Brentford in the week.

So my expectations are a great deal lower than most posters on the Forum which may give rise to your view that I am critical of the club.
