Huffton Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 I keep reading about how we could get reinstated if they go pop next week. Surely this can't happen. If it is proved that they have been trading insolvently for a period of time (which is pretty obvious) then all the other clubs they have knocked out would also have a claim to be reinstated would they not? The only sensible and workable solution would be to give a bye to whoever they draw in the next round.

The draw tomorrow or whenever will say who they should be playing. If they do go bang and out of business, then the team they are drawing will go onto the semi
Matthew Le God Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 (edited) Yes, Saints are definitely out. However the PL and FA have some questions to answer if they were allowed to continue to operate and sign new players to play in cup games if proven by Vectis to be insolvent and have been for a while. dubai_phil Posted 13 February, 2010 Share Posted 13 February, 2010 As others have said - we are out. Mind you, IF they are shown to have been insolvent or even worse IF their financial statement to the FAPL that got their transfer embargo lifted was shown to be "allegedly less than truthful" then any good ambulance chaser would have just cause to say that O'Hara and others should not have played today and had an effect on the result, in which case we could claim a few hundred k's in compensation from them or the FAPL, Which, to be honest would be much funnier

Huffton Posted 13 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 13 February, 2010 Perhaps we could hold on to their ticket money for a while, just in case ;-)

Don't know what will happen, but the FA would lose their share of the gate receipts and TV money if there is a bye. So suspect somehow or other they will ensure a game is played.
