Pilchards Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 The amount of times the club has announced something without anyone being ITK is impressive. They bought several good players last season which took us all by surprised too. This is why I get excited when I browse this forum as someone will have a link to the official website with club news. Going back in time, there is no way that Keegan deal would of been kept a secret today with the internet/forums etc. Agree, or do you call it arrogance from Cortese? doggface Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 Pilch, I think alot of peoples contacts have left the club so news has dried up. Also alot of mouth pieces on the coaching staff have left. The club monitors the forum closely & if anything is leaked & they can trace it back, their guts are garters!
Saint in Paradise Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 No way would I call it arrogance, excellent business practise yes very much so.
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 A little over a year ago the official website was a complete joke and you would never consider going there to find news. Sites like this one and the Echo prospered on the back of it. Now you actually have a reason to go to the official site. Nuff said.
Under Weststand Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 I think its the way it should be, & proving good buisness practice. Look at the Alan Pardew Announcement, no one expected that, & it was received with a mostly positive response. how would it have been received if Cortese been hawking round the media saying we were trying to get Keegan or Shearer in. Would have been a different response I'd say! Anyone remember the Hoddle Fiasco, Sturrock may just may have stood a chance if everyone thought he was first choice? May have made no difference but he was on a looser from the off.
OldNick Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 I believe that there is a bit of fear of saying too much.Jobs at risk now if people say anything that can be traced back. The problem with the saintsfc site it is too slow with getting the news out before people hear. There should be an instant notification on the site as soon as a player signs, not hours/even 24hour delay. I think also a lot of people with genuine info are sick of the 'sauce' and general disbelieving comments and so dont want to give info out, due to that. Lord Duckhunter Posted 12 June, 2010 Share Posted 12 June, 2010 I have a mate who works in the press, and we had a few together last Sunday. He says he doesn't get much info now, and neither do any of his collagues. He thinks it's because "they are all on the same side now". I suppose he means there are no factions at the Club leaking to make themselves look better, or the others look worse. However, we had partaken in a lot of Tanglefoot when he was telling me, so the exact conversation was a bit hazy.
