patred44 Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 Luke Varney should fit in nicely... he has a record of shoulder injuries that have kept him back for 3-4 tears.
tartanowl Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 We had him on loan three times from Derby. Laws used to like him. Luke is fairly quick, he has bundles of energy and will keep running non-stop for 90 minutes. He is a real worker. We played him on the left wing for a few games and that seemed to suit him better than up front. Unfortunately he's not that great in the air, he doesn't link up the play too well, and his goalscoring record could be better. Some of our fans rated him. I didn't. I think the fact that he tried hard, ran around a lot, and put the effort in was the reason why some fans liked him. To be honest I thought he was a pretty limited footballer. Decent pro but I won't be fearing him next season if he signs for you.

VectisSaint Posted 22 July, 2010 Share Posted 22 July, 2010 Did he always applaud the fans after the match? I think you maybe getting mixed up with David Prutton.

patred44 Posted 23 July, 2010 Share Posted 23 July, 2010 Whilst we ponder this, it may interest you to know we had a £400k bid for a Championship striker turned down yesterday afternoon. I don't think it is the end of our interest as they say in Pompey, nt!
