La BoIS Saint Posted 30 September, 2008 Share Posted 30 September, 2008 I'm not going to criticise people for not attending. People have various reasons, it's up to them. If we keep playing like tonight, they will come.
Rocker268 Posted 30 September, 2008 Share Posted 30 September, 2008 Tonight was a good match we should have won about 4 or 5 - 1 in the end after their second half almost goal line clearence but Kelvin made some fantastic saves during the second half this is the first game since we beat brum I have been too and ts a joy to behold my friend came with me as hes an aldershot fan and said we were great and should easily beat coventry soon as they hate sides who play fast like us

saintbletch Posted 1 October, 2008 Share Posted 1 October, 2008 Great performance...stay aways are missing a treat! 21 shots on target. Really? And yet we only won by 2 goals. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed the match and thought we played well. But we've got to start putting away more goals when we are given the opportunities. We won't play 10 men or get awarded penalties every week.

So maybe the finishing wasn't that poor, but you're right. We should have had a couple more yesterday.

John Smith Posted 1 October, 2008 Share Posted 1 October, 2008 Great performance...stay aways are missing a treat! And yet 'another' political thread! How many more must there be, this board is getting very very dull! So, you can't just say, Great performance, you 'have' to make it political and get something in to poke it at other Saints fans! Then, maybe, you also can hide behind a group, rather than expose your own thoughts and opinions about 'the game' because, I thought that was what the thread was about. But no, it's just 'another' thread that wants to start an argument. So, just like the thread about the moaners and the thread about the seating, your threads 'only' point isn't to rejoice in a great Saints win, but use that win in a politically biased manner. That is disrespectful to the lads that played so well last night. Because you have taken that great performance and turned it into a political tool. Shame on you! washsaint Posted 1 October, 2008 Author Share Posted 1 October, 2008 Cheers FtF....I meant to say 21 shots not 21 on target. John Smith - the reason I raised the 'stay aways' comment was because this team deserve far better from us fans. They are starting to gel, give 110% and to see the vast swathes of empty seats is disheartening. On the plus side, every home game this season has seen tremendous support from those fans that do turn up. There has been none (or very little) of the negativity that has been present for a number of years at St Marys (from the crowd).
ladysaint Posted 1 October, 2008 Share Posted 1 October, 2008 The last quarter of the match was great to watch never seen as shoot as often as that for a long time and it made for a great game. Rather see us shoot and be off target than not to shoot at all. You could see the confidence growing in the young team with every pass made. More of the same Saturday please. Nothing wrong with the post in my opinion. I stayed away (and regretted it), but only because I couldn't be arsed with the journey. I take it though that you undertake not to use bad results to call for Lowe out then....

I think I agree with you. If people feel justified to come on here and be "political" about their reasons for staying away then they put themselves up to be reminded of what they missed out on. Christ, if they can't take that on the nose then they must be a bunch of sensitive chaps.
ottery st mary Posted 1 October, 2008 Share Posted 1 October, 2008 Pleased the team won for themselves, for the coach JP and mostly for all the Saints supporters who support the team/club regardless of who is in the Directors box or coaching the team. We will still be here supporting the boys. They need to score more when they have this number of chances, so come on JP sort it out. The team owes us these couple of wins and many more to come. To the supporters of Directors alone please try and show some love to the team and us Saints supporters, you could grow to love the club as well.
