For anyone who was at the game yesterday, how did he play? And how did he look compared to Butterfield?

In my opinion, he was OK.... nothing fantastic but at the end of the day it was his first start in the 1st team so he did well, he's a solid chap but just needs to work on his distribution, although I didn't agree with us playing that hit and run game again anyway. I was more worried about Seabourne and Hammonds performances.....

 

He showed some promise but I do enjoy watching Butterfield.

Looked rusty but hopefully lots to come. He's tall, pacey and pretty mobile but he struggled to get much going with JP (who himself had a poor game). His distribution looked shakey at times but that was par for a lot of the players yesterday; we appeared to struggle with both Notts physical approach and a difficult (very wet/slippery) surface, particularly in the first half.

 

The post above - Hammond had a decent game yesterday, he covered a lot of ground, got stuck in, won his tackles, and his passing was better than most yesterday.

 

I would go:

 

8 - Fonte / Barnard / Lallana

7 - Hammond

6 - Davis / Harding / Lambert /Seaborne

5 - Richardson

4 - MS / JP

Rusty, but then it is his first game of the season, so he his a number of games behind the rest. He will do well.

According to NA a small calf tear revealed by a scan. On the radio yesterday but I was at the game

Richardson looked strong to me. Seemed to like the sort of tackles that get the fans going: take the ball and cause the man to fly up in the air and land in a heap.

Rusty to begin with but clearly a decent player and looks ****ing hard!
