bowers-sfc Posted 24 November, 2010 Share Posted 24 November, 2010 Never been and want to know the best places to park if anyone has done so before? Is the o2 available to park in at a cost? Also, have 2 free spaces if anyone is interested.
itchen Posted 24 November, 2010 Share Posted 24 November, 2010 You can normally park free on the street, especially if you go up the hill a bit towards Charlton Village/Blackheath. There are also some large DIY type stores with car parks the other side of the main road (Woolwich Road) from the Valley.

Whitey Grandad Posted 24 November, 2010 Share Posted 24 November, 2010 When we went there a few years ago we parked in the residential streets up the hill about half a mile to the south. What I normally do for a strange ground is get there early, then drive away in the direction you would take to get home and park in the first available space on the left-hand side. Fan The Flames Posted 2 December, 2010 Share Posted 2 December, 2010 Loads of street parking around Charlton House, which is on the corner of Charlton Road and Hornfair Road. Nice stroll down the hill to the ground, bit of a climb back up that will be eased by an away victory and then just a short drive back to the A2 via the Sun in the Sands roundabout or down Well Hall Road. JRM Posted 2 December, 2010 Share Posted 2 December, 2010 Latest public transport update from their OS. http://www.cafctv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2235458,00.html Well at least that is confirmed, the Jubilee line will NOT BE RUNNING. It is a farce having games on boxing day when public transport cant get you there. This makes getting to charlton even harder for anyone travelling from around London as North Greenwich station will not be open. http://www.tfl.gov.uk/assets/downloads/dlr-route-map.pdf Bank to Greenwich DLR takes 21 mins. Recommended route would be tube to bank and DLR rest of the way. Greenwich to Charlton 2.4 miles. Sure there will be a bus to pick up along that road. for_heaven's_Saint Posted 2 December, 2010 Share Posted 2 December, 2010 (edited) Latest public transport update from their OS. http://www.cafctv.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10267~2235458,00.html Cheers for that. I wonder if away fans can get on the 'Valley Express' coaches. I've emailed them to ask. Edited 2 December, 2010 by for_heaven's_Saint
sandwichsaint Posted 2 December, 2010 Share Posted 2 December, 2010 Cheers for that. I wonder if away fans can get on the 'Valley Express' coaches. I've emailed them to ask. Pretty sure they are for ticket holders only (ie ST or day-ticket) and you book them (coach seats) when you book your tickets - they do say no away fans allowed in the advertising. They do one from here, excellent value, match ticket and coach travel is about £20 for most games, sometimes more; I have seen ticket-and-coach deals at £12-£15 for midweek games ... ridiculously good value when you think it is 75 minutes travel time from where I am. A few of the lads from my school use it regularly (age about 12-18) and it costs them about £8 a game including travel from Deal or S'wich .. incredible! Anyways ... for about £25 you could buy a home ticket and guaranteed travel ... get off the coach, bin your home ticket, and go into the away end .. there are services from all over Kent and East Sussex ... get in!
