Turkish Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 our one positive from yesterdays shambles is a lot of the clubs around us lost as well.

Dr Who? Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 Everyone can beat everyone in this league, some of the results I really find hard to believe, there seems to be at least one every week, and I would not even say ours yesterday was one of them. Brentford on fantastic form and now on the same points. You can tell that anyone can beat anyone just by how close the league table is. We do seem to play teams just as they are hitting form, but I am sure most say that. Need to get out game together or it will only take a couple of games and we COULD be cut adrift! I think you are trying to justify our result yesterday................The essence is that Brentford and us are worlds apart in terms of resources, backup, money spent on the team and on paper teams - not to mention - similar Carlisle etc........Apart from Chaplow we are still not as good as last year and last year we didn't make it, ok with a ten point deduction but this year the team are not as good in terms on personnel to call on - this is worrying... MK Saint Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 My Charlton supporting mate said they were awful today and thinks we will turn them over on the 26th. It's also worth noting that Parkinson has just won manager of the month so hopefully the curse will continue!

moon monkey Posted 12 December, 2010 Share Posted 12 December, 2010 Personally, I feel we have too many flair players. Technically very gifted with the ball, who can do all the attractive stuff and perhaps we need less of those type of players in this league. Perhaps we should be looking for gritty, wimbledon style players in January and not the big name players we are hoping for.
AussieDog Posted 13 December, 2010 Share Posted 13 December, 2010 Are we caught in the trap of building a team to do well in the Championship, rather than one to get us out of League 1? I do have rose-tinted specs, but I look at our team and player for player we always look to have a better side out than the team we are playing - but if they're not prepared to roll their sleeves up and get stuck in we will get rolled over by sides that WANT to win, and that play as a team. From what I've read about our team on Saturday, we were way too complacent.
silversaint Posted 13 December, 2010 Share Posted 13 December, 2010 Have heard rumours of lots of snow for the end of the week. Wonder whether our games going to be on or not?Got family coming from abroad to watch this so wouldn't mind knowing early doors!Thoughts?
sad saints fan Posted 13 December, 2010 Author Share Posted 13 December, 2010 http://www.footballforums.net/forums/index.php go to this site and to the league one section. There are always home supporters of whichever club we are playing ready to give advice on weather conditions and the likelihood of the game being cancelled
