Some will say that the next three games are all 'losable', so turn it round and get everyone pumped and pointed in the right direction!!

Nine points for Chrimble please.

To be fair I thought NC did that with his BBC interview very positive, it was nice to see the Nigel and the players respond in such a positive way a couple of days latter.

Very true sir, however we also blew it at home to three other tiny clubs Rochdale, Swindon and Plymouth. So we must re-focus and get back on track...and I believe we will.

Also - awesome gate again for a nothing opponent like Brentford on a cold day just before Christmas!!

Did Adkins bring any backroom staff with him? I dont recall any & I know he didn't bring in any players, the point Im trying to make is that he has no support from people who know him or have worked with him & I just wonder if he's struggling because of that. Most managers bring someone into the team to back him up, Pardew bought in Murty & I expect he worked with him at Reading, Strachan bought in Telfer having worked with him at Coventry. Most people would say they were rubbish players but I wonder if they steadied the team on the pitch by making the players play to the managers plans.

We are talking about "nine points before chrimble here"....so the topic of conversation is league points blown to "tiny clubs". I don't think he is talking about the JPT is he?

I think he was just refering to being beaten by tiny clubs at home league or no, Swindon (in the JPT) and Rochdale (in the league) were both games where the team showed little passion or fight just like saturday.

I think not, but now you have offered this slightly implausible possibility I doubt we will ever know.

Basically a lot of Saints fans believe in what we have, a decent gaffer, a good structure, possibly the best squad in the division, probably the best facilities - definitely the best fans.

So what is needed is the correct results to match and complete the whole package. So if Nige injects the positive attitude and belief we will succeed. The horrible and unacceptable defeats to the nothings of Rochdale, Brentford, Swindon and Plymouth are behind us so let's move on from now on and do what our superior resources dictate.

Don't get me wrong....even Man U lose a bad one at home occasionally (i.e. last year in Cup to skates) but 4 times a third into the campaign?? Use it as a motivator, what's past is past.

Why do we blow it everytime we have a chance of moving into a good position? This isn't Adkins fault, it isn't about quality, but there's clearly a problem. Pardew could never solve it and everytime we could close on the playoffs they bottled it. Same with Burley, and same on the few chances we had a sniff of Europe in the top flight. Year after year we do exactly the same, but players and managers change.

How can Adkins finally stop the endless bottling that'll be needed for promotion? We blatantly need top two, as I can't see this club ever winning a playoff with so many chances to bottle it. In our 1 playoff outing we bottled the home game, proved we were capable in the harder game, then bottled the shoot-out. We bottled the start to this season then bottled the chances to make up for it. So what next?

If Saints could bottle what you have said there they'd be top of the premiership!!!!!

if that's the case how come that there are 8 sides above who don't seem to need to do that??

You can get promoted spending peanuts, but if "you don't want to contemplate not getting promoted THIS season" and your team is currently the 9th best in the division, you have to throw the cheque book at it to stand a decent chance.
