Tonight Arsenal will field 1! Yes 1 true academy player in Jack wilshire. All others were aquired from other teams academies.

Does it show the real truth about their academy, that the only way they can raise they're own profile is to (like spoilt child) have only the best for themselves!!

Hey NICOLA if your reading this , what happend to "THE BARCELONA MODEL", more like the "RUPERT LOWE MODEL".

Grow some ball's FFS!!

RANT OVER!!! ;)

It's not about developing them from nappies. If I was a young player I'd look at how Arsene Wenger has brought on players from raw talent into polished internationals - Wilshere, Fabregas, Walcott.... the list goes on.

Ultimately, good players want to play with, and against, the best - League 1 ain't that.

Lallana was poached from Bournemouth......Dex and Mcgoldrick from Notts County.

I think Best was from Notts County and Blackstock was from Oxford. I can't think of the last really good youth player to be born in the Southampton area. Bale was from Cardiff, Baird from Ireland, Walcott from Newbury, OXO is from Portsmouth and Lallana from Bournemouth. I suppose you could count Surman but he is not in the class of the others in the list!

Until we are in the top half of the premier we can't realistically expect to hold on to anyone half-decent.

And when we are in the premier we will definitely be doing exactly what we are critising Arsenal for doing.

Anyone who condemns big clubs from taking players from small clubs wouldn't be saying the same thing if Arsenal were in our position and we were in theirs.

Stop whinging. If we hadn't been relegated twice we'd have had a better chance of keeping good players. It's our own fault.
