NorthamSteve Posted 23 March, 2011 Share Posted 23 March, 2011 http://www.fichajes.net/noticias/entran-al-juego-20110323.html Bit of a non story, but good for Alex. Loose translation: Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Southampton player has attracted interest from many big European teams. In this situation, the FC Barcelona does not want to miss the opportunity to gain the services of the young Briton. If a few days ago was the Manchester United club that showed interest in the player, the club now enters the picture, because she has seen so much potential and a great progression in the Southampton player. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is 17 and plays as a versatile offensive midfielder, a position that Barcelona is working to bring someone. The most interesting is that the club itself can know that tanning in the lower grades to later make the jump to the first team as he has great talent. JackFrost Posted 23 March, 2011 Share Posted 23 March, 2011 I think Barcelona being interested in AOC is rubbish. There's bound to be big clubs looking at him but considering the quality of Barce's B team I think them being interested in him is far-fetched to say the least. If they played in the PL, Barce's B team would probably finish 7th-8th

So why don't we have these UV sun beds at Staplewood? Are we missing a trick? Come on Cortese, we are supposed to be having state-of-the-art facilities. saints_is_the_south Posted 23 March, 2011 Share Posted 23 March, 2011 PS, following Italian football as I do, tuttomercatoweb can be quite reliable. Also reports on there about Barcelona as has been posted above. This article is the best though, the title: "Southampton, another jewell" and the first sentence - "The nursery of Southampton is one of the best in England" - http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/?action=read&id=246878 Talks about Bale and Walcott obviously, to read the whole thing in English just stick it into google translate.
