Pilchards Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 Found out yesterday that Alan Shearer has been helping the Huddersfield strikers in training. Great move indeed, shame our MLT could not help us in penalties & scoring great goals.
Saint Charlie Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 Rickie needs no help with penalties!

Fitzhugh Fella Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 I think you will find there is more chance Pompey being declared the best run club in English football over the last decade than MLT being given a job at St Marys.
paulwantsapint Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 Rickie has no problem with pens & his free kick ratio is up there with MLT Since Crosby has taken over set plays are looking good dangerous & varried
Wes Tender Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 He can help all he likes, but you cant polish a turd ! This. Shearer might have had the ability to put away the goals himself, but what makes him able to pass on that skill to others who do not have that ability? Who coached him when he was at the Dell or afterwards? Was it a former prolific goalscorer, or is it the case that some coaches do not necessarily have that ability themselves, but just the ability to put across the skill of the right positioning, the awareness and the technical skill? Secret Site Agent Posted 2 April, 2011 Share Posted 2 April, 2011 This. If you look at Dave Alred coaching technique he is able to take people with the skill and is able to enhance what they already have. But he is a caoch and has the skill to train others, yet he had no success as a player. As mentioned above, i think this also proves the reverse is true.
