SO16_Saint Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 Anyone got one? Am thinking of getting one as a second car for the Mrs and bambino. I know they're only 2 door but are they any good for people with small kids? Boot big enough for pram etc? Will only be second car not main family car Edit: damn auto correct - VW not be!! Jonnyboy Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 For me, a 2 door is a no no if youve got a baby or toddler. Just another hassle getting them in.
SO16_Saint Posted 1 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 1 January, 2012 Know what you mean JB but the Mrs has always wanted one and we need a second car so an ideal time.
skintsaint Posted 1 January, 2012 Share Posted 1 January, 2012 if you're talking the old ones we have had two, great cars and fix most of the problems yourself, just dont get in a crash...
Simples Posted 5 January, 2012 Share Posted 5 January, 2012 My other half has got a new shape one. She loves it but says herself that when/if we have kids, it'll have to go. Two doors mean they need a lot of space to be able to open fully to get your child in. It also has a really small boot, no good for shopping and a pram. SO16_Saint Posted 6 January, 2012 Author Share Posted 6 January, 2012 Saw one last night and the mrs fell in love and we bought it. The boot space is big enough for our big pram and wheels. We won't be having the pram forever so when it goes down to just a pushchair setup there will be plenty of space. For now, of we go shopping etc we will take the family car. There's enough space on the back seat for the car seat an a real passenger, and thanks to parent and child spaces, plenty of room to get baby in the back. Drives like a dream, 3 owners from new, 103000 miles with FSH. Surprisingly large car
sotonjoe Posted 7 January, 2012 Share Posted 7 January, 2012 It's a golf with a big, heavy bodykit that makes it less practical and lowers performance. It's all about the looks, if that's your thing.
