suewhistle Posted 10 August, 2008 Share Posted 10 August, 2008 Apologies if this has already been posted. Pretty reasonable report, and somebody seems to have done a bit of homework about Svensson at least. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/aug/10/championship.cardiffcity

Wilf Posted 10 August, 2008 Share Posted 10 August, 2008 Thanks Suewhistle, what a great write up from a journo for once spotting the really significant slant to take.
Saint Martini Posted 10 August, 2008 Share Posted 10 August, 2008 Hmmm, it seems to be the same as the Guardian report I posted in this topic: http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=
Wilf Posted 10 August, 2008 Share Posted 10 August, 2008 Killer on the OS "hopefully in a couple of days I'll be back training" Oh dear, let's hope so. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10420
VectisSaint Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 Killer on the OS "hopefully in a couple of days I'll be back training" Oh dear, let's hope so. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=10420 Wouldn't worry too much about this. It seems like Killer was always going to be rested for the Exeter game, so will only miss training today. I suspect he will not play 2 games in less than a week until September or so. As soon as Davies & Lancashire are fully back up and running we'll have a lot more options at the back so will be able to protect him that much better. Definitely only one game a week at the moment. saintwarwick Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 The Star printed "He might have finished on the losing side, but there was no bigger weekend winner on any football pitch in the land than Southampton captain Michael Svensson" and that was the first line of the report. Fowllyd Posted 11 August, 2008 Share Posted 11 August, 2008 Just to add one thing to this thread: the Observer has a section throughout the season headed 'The Verdict' in which there's comment on each Championship game from the two managers plus one supporter, normally from the home side. In yesterday's Observer, the Cardiff supporter's comment was: It was OK, in patches, but if I was a Southampton fan I'd be feeling pretty devastated with the result. We were lucky to come away with a win; the performance sis little to match the optimism of pre-season. We've lost games like this in the past, though, so it's nice to savour the last-minute winner. Southampton tried really hard. Interesting, I think, to see it from that perspective...
