jawillwill Posted 30 November, 2012 Share Posted 30 November, 2012 I'm thinking of getting a new (well not actually new) car. Something a similar size to a Golf, but not necessarily a Golf. Any suggestions?
Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 December, 2012 Share Posted 1 December, 2012 A Leon is actually a golf but with a different shell. All the parts are golf parts, engine is from a golf etc Probably as close as you can get and usually a lot cheaper.

Tokyo-Saint Posted 1 December, 2012 Share Posted 1 December, 2012 What about an Ibiza? Are they really a Polo? Not sure about that. I actually know nothing about cars but wanted a golf and a mechanic mate told me about the Leon. When this question came up, it was the ideal opportunity for me to spout his knowledge and seem clever myself. I wasn't expecting any follow up questions to be honest and now the whole house of cards has just come crumbling down.
Colinjb Posted 1 December, 2012 Share Posted 1 December, 2012 What about an Ibiza? Are they really a Polo? Yes, based on the Polo underpinnings. SEAT's, Skodas, Audis and VW's do share parts, the only major difference is that the SEAT's and Skodas tend to use parts/engines that are a generation behind their Audi/Golf cousins. The Leon is fantastic, there is a new one coming out soon though. The Focus is also great, is styled a little fussily.
