alpine_saint Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 (edited) One of the final acts of cultural and intellectual vandalism possible to a once-great institution. Its absolutely tragic how useless and dumbed-down the BBC has become. EDIT : Signed, of course. Edited 27 September, 2013 by alpine_saint

Its absolutely tragic how useless and dumbed-down the BBC has become. Oh stop it Alpine. Everyone knows the BBC has to stop making any form of programmes and just buy in left over rubbish from around the world. It's the only way they can keep enough of the Licence fee to pay their 327,000 Senior Managers salaries of 500k a year...........

sussexsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 Signed. Gutted if it goes. It can only cost the BBC about £40 to put the bloody show on anyway. I was at Patricks house when they filed an entire episode a couple of years ago. 1 cameraman, 1 sound guy a few lights and Patrick with a visiting professor , Then cut to Pete in his front garden. When I think about the hundreds of thousands spent on inane shyte that gets pumped out it makes me really sad.

sussexsaint Posted 27 September, 2013 Share Posted 27 September, 2013 They should put it on Beeb 4 - thats where most of the good stuff is these days I agree, sad thing is that it has the potential to inspire a lot of people in an amazing hobby. was in th eback garden with my boy last night as the sky was pefect. teh Milky way was so bright you could see detail in the milky river. We saw a load of meterorites and i showed him the andromeda galaxy through binoculars. Didn't have time to get the scope out. Its all up there and I'm sure most don't realise how observable a lot of this stuff is. It certainly helps put things into perspective whenever life gets you down mrs Brown, and people seem stupid or daft....
