Papa Shango Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 (edited) People talk like this is just the inevitable consequence of us doing well last season, it didn't have to be (not on this scale anyway). This has much more to do with the changes at the club than football being how it is. If Cortese had remained and the investment level was the same as it had been then none of this would be happening. Bearsy Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 I dunno why we can't just tell all the "vultures" to f*ck off. It's what I would do. I quite like telling people to f*ck off! Anyone who disagrees with this can f*ck off.
Heisenberg Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 I dont understand why teams arent asset stripping Newcastle, Stoke and Palace? They finished just a few points behind us last season.

Depends on the owners motives Glasgow. It's the owner who does the asset stripping, not the buyers.
SaintRobbie Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 A very good read. But unfair on Adam Lallana. He has been professional throughout. There is no evidence he's asked to leave and even if he stayed at Saints he'll be captain and a future captain of England. Win win for our Adam. Leslie Charteris Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 "Not to pick on Adam Lallana... How sad that a higher wage and a couple of games in Europe can turn his head away from a project that he’s been such an integral part of for so long. It’s all just starting to feel so futile." And the people running the club, wanting to run the club in a financially sound way, are going to listen to offers that will return a tidy profit. It looks like this is the new "Southampton Way". Let's just hope the talent spotters keep coming up with the goods or else I fear we will become an eternal yo-yo club.
Saint George Posted 31 May, 2014 Share Posted 31 May, 2014 Very good article No it's not....What we're seeing at the moment is down to the Board Room changes...Nothing else. Plenty of other Clubs have been in 8th place and not been asset stripped.... The simple fact is, the environment and goals that existed under Cortese are no longer there.....This has led to players looking elsewhere for a similar working environment. It's no different to anyone else in any job when their employment structure drastically changes...especially peeps who are top of their field.....You don't like what's happening at the company you work for, you move.
