Gemmel Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Although it wasn't something the other directors were invited to vote on, lowe apparently offered to resign after relegation from the Prem. Would he do the same if we were relegated from the Championship and would that be the ultimate price to pay, in order for us to move forward as a club? Regardless of your view or stance on lowe, i think today has proved beyond resonable doubt, we can never move forward with such huge rifts between the fans and shareholders. glkdcdes Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Lowe will not resign, ever, under any circumstances i can forsee. If he did offer to resign when we were relegated from the premier league he would only have done so if he knew that it would not have been accepted. If we are relegated he will blame Crouch and no doubt Poortvleit. The man has no shame and nothing he does will ever surprise me. his total disregard for the true fans of this once proud club is simply sad. The man is diluded and we will never be successful while he has any involvement with our club. In the mean time, having to be an impotent bystander.......... Come on you reds
rpb Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 We've been relegated three times in my lifetime - I can't remember the chairman ever resigning...

saint1977 Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Doubt it but Wilde might well call time on him. I'm beginning to wonder if Wilde won't read the accounts today and recoil. Rupert has become a loose cannon. He's done and said some off the wall stuff some of which has been effective in the past but today was just wacky and reeked of someone fairly near the edge. BotleySaint Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 I think Lowe has made it clear today he won't be going anywhere anytime soon - he would never go as "easily" as resigning. He is here to stay, be that in the Championship, League 1, League 2 or below.

ottery st mary Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Not until he has finished his 5 year plan..Give the guy a chance we are still within the first year. Lots more misery to come yet..OH! NO..Someone please help, I could end up in Knowle in the next bed to Mr Lowe.
ulstersaint Posted 23 December, 2008 Share Posted 23 December, 2008 Lowe would not resign. Rather he would see relegation as further proof that the club really needs him and that he alone is the man to restore the club to its' former glory. The man is beyond arrogance - he is a megalomaniac. (A mental disorder producing delusions of grandeur and a passion for grandiose schemes). And after you finish him off, you'll soon be released on grounds of incontrovertible sanity.

I prefer the term messiah complex, but I reckon you're spot on. Lowe won't resign because he knows he's right - even if this means that everybody else is wrong. It will not be a football discussion and if it was, it would be totally one sided , as I know, nothing at all about football. No offence, Mr Lowe, I have always looked upon you (as have most fans of yours) as a father figure at our, sorry, your club . The farther away the better. Merry xmas Fowllyd, I have idolised you ever since I was a little boy.

I'm pretty sure I wasn't actually born then, but touched I am nonetheless. Nice to find somebody who knows that the word 'farther' exists too! No chance - the 'ineptitude' thus far displayed shows that his intent appears to be clear - TO RELEGATE THE CLUB. The whole Total Football with kids ideal was balls from the start, his return divided everyone, he gains when the shareprice becomes nothing when he buys up the club, he rebuilds from League 2 if he has to. Lowe is longtermist, but unnecessary. He INTENDS to relegate this club. Either that or he is just an arrogant, loser who is totally inept and will relegate the club anyway. mmmmmm... take your pick

He is here to stay, be that in the Championship, League 1, League 2 or below. Sadly I agree. Where that leaves SFC's future who knows. Agreed also. Where that leaves the club, is with a handful of core fans who can tolerate the actions of Lowe, Wilde, and other Board members who just stand by. I can honestly say that I wouldn't be amongst them. Empty promises, assets stripped and limping along from season to season just looking back at better days, is not the club I grew up supporting.
