Yeah, that was disappointing at the time. Possibly Graham was having more issues at the time with Trump licking Putin’s arse and trying to get Zelensky to do the same with Trump to keep him sweet, but I agree that he should have stood up to Trump and Vance there. Ironically the guy who kicked it off, MGT’s husband and her are now anti-Trump! Overall he was one of the biggest US backers of Ukraine though and said to Trump - lose in Ukraine and lose Taiwan (and all of the chips Trump prizes).

I'll remember him as someone who ultimately lacked the courage of his convictions though - failure to stand up to Trump with that Zelensky stunt and failure to oppose Trump over 6th January (I think he initially said something about being "done" with Trump). Not really that much different from pretty much all Republicans though. 1
badgerx16 Posted Wednesday at 14:40 Posted Wednesday at 14:40 The petulant man-baby has a new target - the Falklands. Argentina have started ramping up their rhetoric over sovereignty, ( strangely, since work started on exploiting oil fields near the islands ), and Donnie is thought to be pivoting towards supporting his mate, President Milei, in retaliation for the UK not supporting the war with Iran. 1

It’ll be interesting if Trump brownosers the DT and Express carry on or stick up for our veterans. Not as if Trump Bone Spurs hadn't had a pop at the Afghan vets. Mail has become more cynical about him so less of a pivot. Problem for Reform if Trump and most likely Hegseth and Vance (who are driving it) go down this line with public opinion which is already sliding away. Edited Wednesday at 17:04 by Gloucester Saint

I think we're all looking at his little outbursts like this the wrong way. If I'm Andy Burnham I'm thinking this is an absolute gift and all I need to do is have a little pop back, reassert our stance and act a bit tough. Instant surge in approval ratings. Might put Trump out a bit but the stupid fucker changes his mind so often that it'll make no difference whatsoever anyway. 2

badgerx16 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago (edited) Newly installed on the National Mall in DC, the Iran War Participation Trophy "We hereby award President Donald J. Trump this participation trophy for his enthusiastic involvement in the Iran war. While some concern themselves with military strategy, diplomacy, or measurable outcomes, President Trump demonstrated the courage to participate regardless of the final score.” “As the recipient of this prestigious award, President Trump joins the ranks of children everywhere who received recognition for simply showing up,” "We join you in celebrating this remarkable achievement". Being a Trump whisperer didn’t exactly help Starmer domestically in a political sense although it did help the UK’s interests when Trump was re-elected and had momentum. The Iran war has hurt Trump and he’s banging on about election fraud yet again without evidence because he knows one or both of the houses are going Dem in November (probably Congress). I wouldn’t needlessly pick a fight with him but if he wants to back his populist puppet Milie (beyond the huge sums of US taxpayers funds he’s already gambled on him) on the Falklands then a robust form of fuck off will go down well.
