The fan on the board saga 2005-2009

Who remembers when some Southampton fans were desperate to get a fan on the board?

I recall this all came about around the mid 2000s as Charlton Athletic had a fan on the board and had just finished in the top 10 of the Premier League, so some of our fans were desperate for our club to follow in their trailblazing ways. Needless to say by 2007 Charlton were relegated, have never seen the Premier League again and are now languishing in League 1. 

So my questions to you are; 

Who were the favourites to be the Southampton fan on the board back in 2005-2009?

What was the agenda of the fan on the board? What did they hope to achieve?

Would a fan on the board work in 2023?

I believe that every single one of the radio solent favourites should immediately be put on the board of directors.

Surely Keith Legg was a favourite to be fan on the board? He was practically in bed with Wilde around 2006. It all came crashing down for him once he received a PM from Amy....

A board of Turkish, B-Rabbit, Caged_Tiger 1 & 2 and Griff (RIP) would have made for an interesting dynamic.
