Very good point on todays pod - the need to get promoted at the first attempt before being dragged down to the championship level.

It is clear that the three relegated teams are a class above, everything else i’ve seen from the opening weekend has been a painful watch full of sh*te (yet there’s people online from other clubs saying how much quality is in the league this year?) We’ve only got to hope and get behind the team to get us out of here as quickly as possible.Β

Saints made the perfect start to life in The Championship, thanks to Che Adams' late winner at Sheffield Wednesday - our first win on the opening day of the season in ten years!Β

In this week's TSP238, we review that match and preview the upcoming Cup game against Gillingham.

We're also joined by Connor Southwell (from the Pink-Un Norwich City Podcast) to look ahead to next Saturday's league match against Norwich.

The latest episode of TSP(243) is available now, reflecting on another frustrating home performance/defeat - this time against Leicester City - as well as previewing the visit of Ipswich Town and Saturday's long trip North to Middlesbrough.

Can Saints stop shipping goals? Did they really go 'toe-to-toe' with the Foxes?

You can listen to the panel's thoughts here: AUDIO LINK

Overall great pod, a must listen each week.

Like: the addition of fans from opposition clubs, really helps to get a sense of each team before we play them as well as an outside Saints perspective.

Minor feedback: totally understand its patreon backed but often the actual content doesn't begin for over 4mins so have just started skipping the intro (which I usually listened to when it was of sensible length). Too much faffing about at the back, get it forward etc etc.

Genuine question how much does it take to make the podcast? See regularly collecting patrons and saying can’t be made without them. Also the ads must contribute a bit.

Really enjoyable btw

Glad you enjoy the podcast. Appreciate you listening.

Regarding the costs, we don’t have a main sponsor (the ads really don’t provide much) so have to pay ourselves for weekly hosting/production, the technology behind our content (ie Streamyard), the physical equipment the chaps use to record, software for producing social media clips/snippets, social events and our website. We also provide patrons (depending on tiers) with merchandise (plus international shipping etc.) at the end of each season. While some of that obviously isn’t compulsory to the success of the pod, we want to try and make it the best listen/watch we can, so track and invest every Β£1 back into the final product.

Over the course of a month/season it adds up, so the patron contributions remain vital (and appreciated) to keeping the show on the road. Hope that helps πŸ‘πŸ»

Thanks for the feedback, Dusic. Always useful to get.

We appreciate that for many long-term listeners some of the intro may get a little tenuous, but we’re picking up new Saints supporters week after week and not all of them know who we are or how we operate. Hence consistently sharing the overview of the weekly panel, patron tiers etc.Β

We’ll do our best to keep that as succinct as we can moving forward.

If Saints were a song then they'd once again be nestled somewhere between D:Ream's 'Things Can Only Get Better!' and Simon & Garfunkel's 'The Sound of Silence'....

Yes, it's been another week of back-to-back defeats, defensive frailties and a continued waning of overall confidence (for players and fans alike!)

TSP244 attempts to pick through the bones of those Ipswich and Boro games, while looking ahead to the visit of Leeds (and inevitable Joel Piroe goalscoring exhibition...)

Another great listen. The panel is well balanced, knowledgeable but also very self-effacing.

I wonder if you might occasionally broaden out into wider topics than just the contemporary Saints news (has absence of VAR hurt or harmed us, what do we think of the Sport Republic multi-club model, state of our finances...that kind of stuff).

Any chance of getting Dave Earnsburger on the pod before the end of the season?

Feel like his name is etched in my memory so may as well hear from the lad. Maybe a joint app with Colt Baker?

Dave and Colt have both been incredibly loyal patrons to TSP. Very grateful to have them supporting our efforts.

Who knows, maybe we can get them both involved in the inevitable 'Promotion Party' episode....Β πŸ˜‰
