To be fair if you ask ChatGPT to predict the table it comes up with similar. Can't see Wrexham finishing in the top 6 if I'm honest and would swap them with Birmingham.
goodymatt Posted 9 June, 2025 Posted 9 June, 2025 Even with a points deduction for Leicester I can’t look past a top 5 of Ipswich, Saints, Sheffield United, Leicester and Birmingham. The 6th spot is harder to call but right now I would go for Coventry. I think Saints will finish 3rd and it will be the lottery of the playoffs again, but there’s a lot of transfer business to go that could change my prediction. Ask again in September!

I'm still doubtful that Leicester will get the points, they need the EFL to take on the case brought forward by the Premier League and I haven't read anywhere that suggests they have? It has been suggested they could get between 12-17 points if the EFL does act, which is massive and with a manager only being confirmed after the 1st July. I'd put them in midtable. Dark horse could be Preston, they've been quietly going about signing some half decent players..

They will do the usual start the season well, hang around the playoffs, then disappear after the new year into lower midtable.
Lighthouse Posted 9 June, 2025 Posted 9 June, 2025 We should have appointed Dyche. You can't defeat Preston without a bit of help from Sean.
JonnyOB Posted 9 June, 2025 Posted 9 June, 2025 (edited) I started watching Saints in 1975. In my most humble of opinions, this was the worst squad I have ever seen Saints put together , I will settle for a season of re-building the basis for a promotion-chasing squad for 26/27 seasons. I don't think we will be anywhere near the top six in May 2026. The manager will surely tread with care and craft a squad that can play his football his way. He is starting with a squad that can't play football anyone's way. Edited 9 June, 2025 by JonnyOB typo
Midfield_General Posted 9 June, 2025 Posted 9 June, 2025 (edited) Saints promoted as runners-up to Sheffield United, getting pipped on goal difference on the last day of the season because we never win the league, whatever division we're in. Coventry to lose to Ipswich in the play-off final. We'll narrowly beat the Skates at theirs, and smash them at ours. Everyone will make a big deal of the Charlton games because of Jones but we'll beat them comfortably home and away. Leicester to start on -12, never get going and finish outside play-offs, causing their fans to go into meltdown over their ownership. Oxford, Wednesday and the Skates relegated. If Wednesday manage to keep hold of Rohl I think he keeps them up. Unless they get a points deduction for not paying players that is…then all bets are off. Edited 9 June, 2025 by Saint Fan CaM

Of the players who started at least half of our games with have lost Mara, Che Adams, Stu A, and KWP. We have gained Ramsdale, Fernandes, Nathan Wood, Kayi Sanda, wellington, Taylor, Sugawara, Archer, brereton Diaz, onouachu, Dibling breaking through, Edwards, Shea Charles returning as player of the season, edozie after ok loan. Players will go, but as will signings arrive. We will be stronger than last promotion season....is the manager better or worse? Edited 9 June, 2025 by West end Saints
Willo of Whiteley Posted 21 June, 2025 Author Posted 21 June, 2025 Who had $20m sale of Sulemana on their bingo card? 🤣
Oldandtired Posted 24 June, 2025 Posted 24 June, 2025 (edited) Don't know if this is the right part of the forum or not but I saw this on the Sky Sports page. I posted it as I can't see it anywhere else on here and if true could have a huge impact on next season. Leicester's future has been left shrouded in uncertainty as their Thai owners face a total business collapse Edited 24 June, 2025 by Oldandtired

Willo of Whiteley Posted 20 July, 2025 Author Posted 20 July, 2025 Man United to still be negotiating for Bryan Mbuemo the week of the first Premier League game.

I’ve looked into my mystic ball and here’s a few I’m already thinking are nailed on: - First game of the EFL season will be Wrexham at home to one of the relegated Premier League sides (us, Leicester or Ipswich). - Sky and BBC will continue their celebrity w***fest of the Welsh club in the meantime. - Birmingham will reach the play offs having spent £30-40m, and claim it to be just “hard work and talent that have got them there”. - Tottenham will part ways with Ange Postecoglu and Mauricio Pochettino will return to lead them to fifth place. - Chelsea will spend £300m and only have a Carolina Cup to show for it. - Man United will spend £300m, Sky pundits will continue to talk about how this is “there season” (again), before mid-November reverting to the same commentary of “it’s the same problems”. Like they’ve done for the last eight years. Dull TV. - Saints will lose away to Pompey and draw at home. - Mid-December Scott Parker to be sacked at Burnley and replaced by Sean Dyche. - Arsenal to not win the Premier League again, and Arteta to put it down to “building the right squad” again having already spent £1b since taking over. - Burnley, Sheffield United and the play off team to be relegated from the Premier League. - Ross Stewart to not make it to September without some kind of niggle/injury. I got a couple of my own 😉😂
