NickG Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 http://forums.therams.co.uk/thread.jspa?threadID=26229&tstart=15 sounds like they expect to be quite defensive.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 These sort of teams are the ones that always seem to cause us problems. We play better against teams prepared to have a go and play the ball along the deck but faulter against 2 banks of players and a big target man. Hopefully Wotte will have done something to counter this and make the team capable of breaking down the more defensively minded opposition. If not i fear we will get caught on the break time and again and loose heavily despite having the vast majority of the possession.

One way would perhaps be to try sitting a bit deeper, bring them on and hit them on the counter as we always struggle to breaks such teams down and usually go down to the sucker punch when its hoofed up the park to the big loofer goal hanging --- usually after getting increasingly frustrated and then losing concentration - now is the time for Wotte to show some nous and a plan b for resolving this... we need 3 points tonight! Window Cleaner Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 LOL @ T4 Trev, at least he's honest and unpretentious. We could do with a few like him.
GeckoSaint Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 Derby are currently top of the form table and will be a difficult nut to crack. Spoke to my Derby supporting mates and they reckon they'll be coming down looking for 3 points rather than 1. That bodes well for us cos as stated previously we really to struggle breaking teams down - which makes you think how good Man Utd are at the moment as they face that scenario every match and still come out comfortable winners. Window Cleaner Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 Derby are currently top of the form table How do you work that out then; We've taken 9 points from the last 4 matches and they've only got 7. Depends how far back you want to go really.

saintjay77 Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 LOL Oppo came up with a gem. "Soton seem to be running a creche." Although he then went off to have a look at our recent form and came back a little bit more jaded lol.

NickG Posted 10 March, 2009 Author Share Posted 10 March, 2009 that form supports my Charlton, Norwich and Blackpool relegation prediction (hope!)
saints-cris Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 They have bucketloads of injuries so there only threat really will be on the wing.. slightly concerning to me as our full backs arent all that and we play quite narrow. No reason why we can't win this though..

Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 They seem their ****y northern selves as always. Strange for a team who we tore apart earlier on this season at their place.
Deano6 Posted 10 March, 2009 Share Posted 10 March, 2009 Apart from the one you've just outlined perfectly. You've gotten very sarky lately Ponty. And I've just used up my last post to say that.
