Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 3 April, 2009 Share Posted 3 April, 2009 I have just received the following: Simon Great to see this group with plenty of members. I represent a group of fans who have already formed a company SAVE OUR SAINTS. We have been working on a proposal for a "Fans Consortium" of some sort for the last few weeks. We planned to go "public" after the Forest game but now the goalposts have moved(!) we are now working tirelessly to "launch" next week. Its important that we galvanise the supporter base and all pull together to achieve what could be monumental. I would be grateful if you could use this group to canvass opinion on people contributing....anything from £100 will be as important as £10000! If you have any questions please email me at saintsfansconsortium@yahoo.com Many thanks Mark

Colinjb Posted 3 April, 2009 Share Posted 3 April, 2009 How would we know if a 'company' set up for this purpose is legitimate?
Dibden Purlieu Saint Posted 3 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 3 April, 2009 How would we know if a 'company' set up for this purpose is legitimate? We wouldn't, and I wouldn't suggest anyone put money into it until proof has been seen that this is completely legitimate.
brmbrm Posted 3 April, 2009 Share Posted 3 April, 2009 Some poor man in Nigeria emailed me about this this morning. He has £100,000,000 to buy the saints but he has to do it through my bank account. Oh dear Manji at least the kid tried to do something for what he believed in. Not saying it was wrong or right, but when people stand up for what they believe in they deserve at least a little respect. Unlike those who just criticise. I am doing little to help so have no soap box to stand on. Who knows what Craig David can bring to the table? i'm prepared at the moment to be open to anything that will Save our Club, Unlike you who only appears to continue to criticise. So as the big I am what you are personally doing to help?

LostBoys Posted 4 April, 2009 Share Posted 4 April, 2009 I am not prepared to criticise anyone who wants to help. It is very easy to hide behind a forum handle and deride other peoples efforts. I would suggest that if the consortia is for real they do actually form a company for the purpose with a web site and non yahoo email address and then go public in the Echo and local TV. In that way people can see it is genuine.

I am currently only letting people know through the Facebook group I set up, and as we all know this guy could be a chancer, but I would not encourage anyone to invest until the company is confirmed as being legal and above board. It was only just an idea.

"So what did you do to save the club you claim to love from adminstration?" "Well I was very sarcastic, very dry and have nearly 1,000 posts on a interweb forum..."
