SaintRichmond Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 Apparently, Mark Wotte made the comment .... " We learnt that wern't going to lose ten points " ??? WHERE did he learn that from ?? My understanding of the League is that they won't make a decision until after their enquiry ........ BUT, they can then impose the Ten Points THIS SEASON, thus ensuring Relegation So what is Wotte on about ???

The Admins Lawyer (Mike Fiddy?) was on Radio Solent this morning and he was pretty adamant that the rules worked in our favour and that there would be no points reduction. Hope he`s right! Pancake Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 Maybe, just maybe, you cannot work it out from a ****ing nine word quote? do you know what preceded the quote or what followed it? Maybe he ended the sentence with "straight away" or "until the FL has conducted its investigation"... FFS...
SaintRichmond Posted 8 April, 2009 Author Share Posted 8 April, 2009 My guess is that he knows more that you, tbf. He most likely does, but what I meant was, IF the League find us "guilty" then the 10 point penalty will be retrospective, ie THIS season ..... therefore Wotte's comment that "we learnt that we wern't going to losr ten points" is NOT correct ....... UNTIL the League's enquiry clears us

No, that was the quote, leading on to how they can concentrate on the CCC ( I don't WANT to be docked 10 points, but the League did NOT say that they were NOT going to impose them )

Window Cleaner Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 (edited) WHERE did he learn that from ?? Probably been talking to Fiddy who's representing Saints in this. In case you're wondering Michael Fiddy, Sport's Law practitioner of the highest ilk. Ex MD of Fulham and worked on the Leeds case. 70's Mike Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 so we will be able to sing to the other 90 plus clubs "we are southampton no one likes us, we don't care"
trousers Posted 8 April, 2009 Share Posted 8 April, 2009 Is this the report being referred to in the opening post? I would venture that the word "yet" is probably quite key to putting his words into context... "Head coach Mark Wotte revealed that a pre-match phone call to tell him that Southampton have not yet been docked 10 points inspired his side to take a battling point in their bid for survival." http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1168416/Watford-2-Southampton-2-Saints-inspired-FAs-inaction.html
