OldNick Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Whats the betting we get the worst refs and decisions that go with it leading to the end of the season.I get the impression that the sentiment in neutrals eyes is that we should be decked -10. The refs may think that way as well, we will be on a hiding to nothing if they are biased against us and 50/50 decisions may go against us.I hope Im wrong but it would be convienient for the league if we go down. What rubbish, if we go down its because we didn't play well enough to get results. Yes decisions can go against you but they can also go fo you. If you think the league have sat down and conciously made a decision to relegate us, then you are a fool! Typical of todays society looking for someone else to blame for our own short comings! ALWAYS_SFC Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 If we are relegated it will be because of The ridiculous board level decision to employ the clueless dutch trio of which we still have 2, coupled with the "kids only" policy enforcement while still paying the high earners. Clueless coaching/team selection/tactical decisions by Portvliet and his helpers. Players not up to the job due to age, zero experience and lack of ability. It will be nothing to do with bias refs although most of the officials we have had at SMS have been dire anyway.

Well if you also believe that refs dont have their own opinions whether a situation is right or not then perhaps you may be foolish.Perhaps in this world there are a few people who are not swayed by their own opinions, referees sometimes show bias sub consciously. i doubt many teams like Mike Riley to ref them when they are up against Man u. I hope Im wrong but I doubt there is much sympathy for us in the official world. i do agree that the refs in the main are poor and of course our performance is all important but questionable decisions plauy a vital part in success or failure. I do believe that they have there own opinions, I also believe they take there position seriously and have prejudice, subconciously, in most games they officiate, be it a player they don't like, a manager or a club. To site the referee as a posible cause for relegation is folly, the season is over 46 games not 3, the truth is we have not produced the goods all season, with or without bad ref's. I am sure we will get decisions go for and againts us in these last 3 games but they will in no way be the cause for our demise or otherwise. paulwantsapint Posted 18 April, 2009 Share Posted 18 April, 2009 Does it matter how good the refs are ? Lets just remember that we have missed penalties this season even when Super Kelv has saved them at other end the team dont punish the opp by making them pay

That is fair and i agree that we will go down due to our inept play, but when you need a little luck for you to stay up the last thing you need is the ref not to have any sympathy and perhaps resentment
