Four I make it. 2 in the 4-4 vs Norwich, 1 late consolation in the 3-1 defeat at Bristol and 1 in the 4-2 win against Sunderland. All scored by Armstrong. Can't remember missing any (so far!)

Interesting that the Villa keeper Martinez got a 2nd yellow card in the penalty shootout against Lille, having received one during the game. But he didn't get a red because apparently, cards during the game do not carry forward into a shootout. I never knew that was a rule.

I remember a season in the 90s (I think when Graham Souness was our manager) when we played at Villa on the last day. We needed a point to stay up and Villa needed a point to guarantee a European spot. Everyone said they would play out a stale 0-0 but of course we still managed to lose it 1-0 and only stayed up because other results went our way.

I don't think many would expect Wolves v Coventry to be the most exciting quarter-finals but the others will need to be pretty good to beat that!

They started the light and pyro show a bit early.

Fisher didn't actually play in the '76 final. He was the named substitute (only 1 sub allowed in those days of course), but wasn't brought on during the game. Having said that, he played a vital part in our Cup triumph that year. If it wasn't for his late equaliser against Villa in the 3rd round it would never have happened. I always find it a bit sad when players put their medals up for sale. I hope it's not out of financial necessity.
