  1. It is a guessing game. Play offs was what I thought we’d get at best in August, to be in with a shout of automatic promotion now, even if it’s a 10 percent chance exceed my expectations. It would be funny if Leicester somehow failed to achieve automatic promotion.
  2. The way things are shaping up, 30 points could be all that is needed to survive! Usually there is an uptick in points as teams roll up to the last chance saloon but both Burnley and Sheffield United are doomed and Luton have had some important players out, not sure if they will be back in time.
  3. And the EFL P&S rules kick in with a points deduction for the following season…
  4. It’s a forum, a place of discussion and opinions, sometimes facts…. Some more valued than others but don’t tell tdm 🤫
  5. Looking at next season when already promoted. So probably a poultry fine…. Boom tish!
  6. Guardian report. Leicester City are at serious risk of breaking the English Football League’s profit and sustainability regulations, raising concerns about the club’s financial picture and a possible points deduction. The financial pressures are likely to result in the need to sell players this summer. If found in breach, it is unclear when any punishment would come into effect. The EFL believes Leicester, who have a three-point lead at the top of the Championship, are on course to break financial rules relating to this season. The club had to submit its projected 2023-24 accounts by 1 March and the EFL believe those figures would equate to a breach, according to the league’s independent club financial reporting unit (CFRU). The EFL determined that it was appropriate for Leicester to submit a business plan to demonstrate how it planned to comply with spending limits but the club said the relevant financial rules did not apply because they were in the Premier League last season. In 2018, Leicester agreed to pay the EFL £3.1m to settle the league’s claim they breached financial rules in 2013-14.
  7. Yep, 20+ seasons in divisions 2 & 3 and this season have a chance, although it’s still not certain. Like so many other teams that have dropped from Division 1, if no promotion after the first three seasons it’s difficult to find that promotion winning combination.
  8. You should read the articles about Stoke, fortunately Saints are not like that, but it will be harder to compete the longer Saints stay in the division.
  9. Sunderland have about six first teamers out injured.
  10. The trouble is these types of seasons will not last in Championship when the parachute payments end and the EFL FFP rules kick in. There will be more adjustment needed in types of players Saints would be able to afford and keep so Say goodbye to the KWPs, hello to more of the Mannings and Any decent young prospect being bought.
  11. cannot believe no one has said revert to mean or they have to lose at some point! There are some good results with being defensive strong and they don’t have any important players out as far as I can see. Perhaps only fatigue catching up with them. It looks to be a hard game and they are only three points and goal difference away from a playoff spot.
  12. Smallbone took a brum player with him which helped Brooks advance and shoot.
  13. I wouldn’t mind that if they can get to the equivalent City level in this division. Pep has adapted his style over the seasons. One reason why Grealish is no longer getting game time this season being more direct at times.
  14. Ummh… why Leeds and Saints got relegated last season….. perhaps.
  15. Someone needs to press the urgency button on him. He’s done that about three times now.
