  1. Songs for the little man: Sign him up, sign him, sign him up Can you mascot every week Its fantastic for them as its something he and you, wont forget in a hurry and it ensures you have a diehard Saints supporter on your hands
  2. SRL will take the penalties all day long over Captain Jack Sparrow
  3. Certainly this, when you see some of the crap that have earned an England cap it devalues it big time. To see a hard working pro that has come up through the divisions because of hard work makes this worth while and because he's one of ours makes it more special
  4. Leeds away, volley whooooooosh netbuster Also when we get a penalty I have that old MLT feeling that no matter what he'll score
  5. Yoshi getting tackled by the dummy was my highlight not that I would make fun of him as he scares the **** out of me
  6. Benali had one with the saints team of the time v a saints all stars team, finished 8-8 if memory serves and it also showed how good MLT was in goal Jason Dodd had one against a celebrity team or something (didnt go was away) MLT saints v england all stars team that was maybe a 8-8 as well? Claus v Celtic 0-2 and didnt Claus pay for the pitch to be relayed?? Thats the last few i remember
  7. I love these sorts of threads, brings back happy memories and you remember obscure matches that you forgot all about. Like many others cant only have one!!! 76 - seeing the cup lifted towards us was the greatest day in a 14yr olds life, even at the final whistle I still thought I'd wake up 77/78 - seeing Saints win away for the first time and what a result, 6-0 v Carlisle (lived up there at the time) every MLT screamer at The Dell, so so many CMFG overheadish kick to score the first in the quarter final of the cup run Marion scoring the goal to give us our first SMS win to **** the gypsy curse off hell loads more im enjoying
  8. JOY - Although I was there in 76 and that was for a long time my greatest joy at a football match, I would now say the JPT final because I witnessed a wembley cup final win with my son, theres nothing better than celebrating a win with your kids SADNESS - As above re portsmuff fans (not all) showing lack of respect to Ted "Mr Southampton" Bates, a great man who deserved so much more. ML's passing left a numb feeling of whats going to happen now. Lastly Steve Mills testimonial was just sad all round, nice guy gone too soon AMUSEMENT - A few, Bruce Grobbelars (spelling police) cap in hand to arsenal supporters after his match fixing came out. Vinnie Jones kicking a ball in wimbledons warm up that hit one of the matching band. Outnumbering MK Dons supporters in the JPT away semi. And lots and lots of non politically correct chants at opposition supporter
  9. I think for me I dont have a favorite goal as such but its what certain goals mean to you Bobby ... Enough said, happy day Matty ... Last at the Dell for that "just had to be him" moment Ossie ... First Saints goal I ever saw (1975/76) Marion .... Curler v skates to make it 3-0 and put us 4th (I think) the heady WGS days CMFG ...... "he's taking on the whole team, no way he's gonna score" goalllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll v Ipswich Mind you Beatts scored a few beauties like the one v WBA
  10. This x 1000, Billy big balls, I'm better than you lot, waste of space that didnt want to be here and I wish he hadn't bothered
  11. After the Pig gate incident I'd be surprised if he's anywhere near the squad let alone the team
  12. Deserves a decent applause even though he always seemed to screw us up at the Dell, haven't seen the best of him at St Mary's so its a great opportunity for us to show our class and say farewell to one of our countries best forwards and yes to celebrate THAT goal above
  13. 100% agreed, the strange kick off time was just ****e
  14. Think Mark Hughes deserves a mention, over paid and couldn't be arsed to be here, yes he scored a couple of goals (one beauty v newcastle) but never really lived up to the hype and in my opinion he was never a team player (did he ever pass to MLT). The most fun I had watching him was predicting a yellow card about 5 seconds before it happened, talk about the red mist!!
  15. Loved the way when he threw the ball out of the goal to stop it crossing the line, he simply strolled out as if he didn't have a care in the world. GK's have to be abit touched in the head to go diving in at peoples feet knowing that they are going to get kicked, but yesterday that was the massive difference between the 2 keepers, I know which one I'm glad we have. AB's juggling was one of the funniest things I've seen in a while but not long after the ball came in from a corner and he plucked it out the air under pressure.
