A bit of news, not really anything. On the front of today's programme, you see Stephens. It was meant to be Virgil, as he's the skipper, and the shirt actually had 17 on it and had to be photoshopped. You can see if you look at it, it looks a bit false. He wasn't at the game today. Glad he got no stick. He will make us stronger.

Back from the game. So happy that we look like a team again. We pressed, the team as a collective was further forward. All played well in my opinion. Yoshida just misplaces the odd pass, Virgil doesn't do that. Redmond actually drove forward with the ball and didn't stop and go backwards. I think we will see the team evolve in the coming weeks. Romeu and Lemina holding and Davis in the hole. Davis, in my opinion, is losing his engine a touch so playing in the hole would mean a bit less work. He can be so influential. Boufal will soon start as well. Boufal looked quality when he came on. He tracked back, won tackles and has that je ne sais quip we so often miss. Tadic grow into the game. And the build up to the players coming out! The video montage and Faithless playing was awesome!! Happy me!!

He has been a fool but lets not start rubbishing Virgils ability. He is and was in most games last season, head and shoulders above the other players and at times it looked like he was playing with 10 boys. It seems Les is still refusing to sell, so it maybe an idea to have a think about the idea that he will be in a Saints shirt after September 1st. The fact is, he (if he stays) will make us much stronger and with playing well in games and getting a few goals, we'd all appreciate him again. Just not love him.

Just to deny a rumour, Tom28 is NOT VvD....hearing a lot of noise about the clubs position being unchanged. NOT FOR SALE. We will see.

Shroppie, I am too with regard to him training. I understand a deal could have been done but it all came out and we got cold feet and are now wanting to hold on. Just giving what I've been told and will tell when I can.

As Tom28 said, and it's a true, Bertrand, Cedric and Tadic have backed down on their hunt for new clubs and are really enjoying the new manager and if there was any chance of Virgil staying, they need to stay. Virgil trained with the 1st team on Thursday for the most part. Don't know what that means. He wasn't at the ground today. Big few days/week coming up I believe. Also, this Graeme Kelly guy isn't far off with what he says.

A Saints team last week, u19's or could have been just an academy team, played Hamble 1sts. Virgil played. Virgil was very relaxed and laid back. Everyone wanted to talk to him and he chatted with everyone. He openly said he was going to Chelsea. Hamble won 5-4.....

Do you think he's going to want to stay after last nights shambles. I'm no bed wetter but 0-4 to that lot was unbelievably poor. I have a feeling this could be coming to a head.

And some news for you all.... Virgil refused to do the BT and Sky video clips today with the squad. Looks like he's going to be fined.

Prediction for VvD... We make him stay but he refuses to play until sept 1st. He misses the first 6/7 games due to having to have some squad time/trading and match practice first. Plays 3/4 games, doesn't cover himself in glory then 'injures' himself and misses 2/3 months. He plays the last 10/12 games of the season and gets big money move he wants. Is it all worth it?!

He is improving. I thought he was one of the better players yesterday. He's got a great killer pass in him and is like a little terrier. What happened to him as the playmaker behind the striker that was talked about when he joined? We need to hope Jay comes back and finds form quickly, I'm sure by now RoKo thought he'd be up and running at full fitness and he is a goal scorer. Pelle too needs to come back bang at it. It is fine margins but ultimately we've lost 9 from the last 11. Ronald can't have long left to turn this around..

I can handle going out of the cup, if we get 6 points from these two home games. Massive, massive games. Which Mané will show up?!
