This. It's always been know that Virgil hasn't fallen out with the manager or any of the players during the summer. He's a natural leader, so I won't be surprised if he's skipper. Fans just need to accept he's back and support the team and him.

I took from the managers interview he is line for a start and he certainly looks ready for action in the training videos. For me, an 80% V is better than a 100% Maya or Jack. Bench minimum.

Haha, let this be a lesson in how quickly things can change. My info came direct from an ex player who is still working at the club, with high level access to the first team. Minor update. He has been training and training well, on his own everyday since deadline day. He is still fuming. Don't expect him back with the 1st team anytime soon.

I know he runs into defenders and he's a bit frustrating but he is the only one to actually try to run at defenders and try to be creative and try to make things happen. Tadic and Redmond play sideways, sideways, backwards crap. He must get a run in the team. He's ball mastery is amazing. I'm certain he could excel with a run in the team. He played most of the preseasons which won't help his mood now. Must be frustrating watching Tadic and Redmond flounce about and not get picked.

So keep him, he won't play, dont buy anyone else and have a huge problem with AM's all season Or Sell him, reinvest on a quality AM and actually have a chance of scoring some goals. He's off. Done, dusted, goodbye. Get used too it.

Virgil is a snake and no better than a Joey Barton. He blames the club but he has ALOT to answer for. He lacks class on all levels and whilst he may well go on to become one of the worlds premier CB's, he's childish strop and complete disregard for a contract he signed here, has tarnished his reputation throughout all of football. The only saving grace is we will stop him going where he wants. He was never going play again, even if we had kept him. He would have refused and hoped for a move in January. Get rid and reinvest. We should have sold earlier and bought Gilfi. Renato Sanches from Bayern will do though, he wants out and we have the cash. Perfect man for the hole that Davis is in. Even if it's on loan. Time to smash the transfer record.

Long did ok yesterday, he's no winger but he gives 110%, is decent in the air and can help Gabbi and for the love of god, stop taking Gabbiadini off on the hour mark every game!! I could even see McQueen starting as a winger soon.

Couldn't agree more. He needs a run of games. 70/75 minutes in a semi-2nd string side playing badly and in a strange formation, doesn't give a fair representation of the boy.

This is dependent on VvD actually wanting to reintegrate and from what I understand, as it stands today, he has no desire to do that. Who knows, Hoedt may change that but are they not both Left side CB's?.... Have heard Loic Remy mentioned if other targets fail.

Following Tom28 around a bit. That's very funny! I get bits and pieces from a couple of different places. To be fair, I've only just really started posting but I do get some news here and there and if I can post it I will, much like the Berty info which is correct. He would like a move and hoped for one this window but isn't having a hissy fit and just cracking on. Saturday was an off game and he wasn't 100% after the Swansea game. Virgil info is harder to come by, the club are being tight lipped but I will say I wouldn't expect him to just start playing when sept 1st comes and he's still here. He's not a happy bunny. He has literally just left the stadium. Not sure why.

He's only just started training with the U23's. Don't read anything into it. A long way off being with the 1st team.

The reason the CB's are being highlighted is because we have a world class Dutchman, sat on his backside not want to play. It's criminal that he's evening being paid. Bertrand does indeed want to go and expected to go. He's not acting up though and is being the model pro, he just had an off day and I don't think he was 100% after last weeks injury. We won and Hoedt will help.

Boufal should be a starting player now ahead of Tadic. JWP is steady but doesn't excel at either defending or attacking, he's just a bit meh. Long just isn't good enough. Redmond needs to do more. We desperately need to get Virgil to play.....
