  1. Just out of interest, I've heard a certain Mr Steve Grant might have inquired about the availability of some players for the Worldnet Innernets Footy tournament in Leeds in July. Anyone want to PM me if they've been asked, as I am being nosey and also want to know if he mentioned the IFC team for next season (we sucked this year but there was some potential). I'll be there, ignoring the call of the Veterans team to hopefully do something for the "normal" side for my 6th successive year. Hasn't happened yet...
  2. Or, erm, West Brom either.
  3. Ryan Smith has pace. He got picked. Ummmm...
  4. Aaaargh, the PTA has disbanded ! *Smash* Guess we just have to wait and see.
  5. I seem to recall a forum member who was once involved in the Saints kit process telling me that whilst yellow kits are the most popular, they also don't sell very well - presumably this is because pretty much anyone who is a Saints fan has at least one yellow kit already, and not many people are as completely obsessive about this kind of thing as I am. FWIW I hate the pointless woven pattern on the back of the "flint" kit, and I don't like the colour, though the style is quite nice, but I have grown to like it in the last... ooh, 8 days or so... Lee's point about the kit purchasing and numbers is borne out by our Forum match, home team wearing the 2006-8 kit with the broad black stripe on the sleeve and BLUE names and numbers from the last yellow kit, away team in current half price BOGOF flint kit with white numbers not the usual red ones. It was like a merchandising dumping ground !
  6. I've been stockpiling the grey ones to sell back to them... I have about 5 at the moment.
  7. I don't think that's the case, Gobern's big and strong and fast and we've brought through loads of pacy players (Walcott, Dyer, Thomson). It's not like you can coach pace anyway. Having said that, Gareth Bale spent 6 months at Spurs working on his upper body and now looks like a fridge with a monkey's head on it, so there's a lot to be said for upper body strength.
  8. At least we'd have the inside track on negotiations... he's practically family to some people on here.
  9. Shame there's been a "cease and desist" on the new Umbro Man City kits, a couple of those were leaked and the white one with a black/red diagonal looked quite plain but pretty nice, something like that in yellow and blue/white would be interesting.
  10. I'd be trawling the Sholing Press Sunday Division 4 myself...
  11. We are meant to be replacing the grey kit anyway - in fact as fans we got lucky that the club decided to keep the home kit for two seasons, because that was meant to be changing every year as well. Though as they ran out of hooped socks months ago and all the teams except the first team have been wearing plain red socks with a white band since about February it'll be interesting to see if we have any socks to start the season with (if we get that far) ! I actually think Saints should launch the red shorts and socks they've been using with the flint kit for most of the season, you've never been able to buy them in the Megastore and we should probably get an away kit that goes with the red/white trim on those. For those thinking I'm being a bit precious about us having kit, Luton started the season 08/09 wearing 1988-replica adidas retro shirts that had been worn in a pre-season fundraising Charity match because after Admin, relegation, takeover, etc they didn't have any kit come the start of the season last August. http://www.lutontown.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10372~1308673,00.html http://www.lutontown.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10372~1372290,00.html
  12. No clue, on account of the fact that anyone involved with the decision is probably on their bike by now, and we don't have any money to pay for kit up front, or necessarily a club to kit out. We will, if we exist, be getting a new away kit if the original Umbro agreement stands. Though most of the new Umbro kits for next season are frankly boring, very plain in line with England's new effort. Sweden have a nice new kit in yellow and blue though. I'll stick some pics of new Umbro styles up soon. New West Ham away (leaked) : Blackburn away : Sunderland : From which you can identify the short and socks styles, anyway. Quite like this though, even if it is a 2008/9 template: Interesting (almost) that all these shirts have the same Umbro logo as Saints' current kits, not the new, rounder-edged Umbro logo that the new England kit has.
  13. We need both. And did you actually just imply that we didn't give the kids a chance this season ?
  14. Now if he could only combine that with some basic footballing skill like passing and shooting, and try doing that "running" thing when he has the ball (not that I've noticed him doing it without either), he'd be second or maybe third rate. Woohoo !
  15. No Comfort to any of us really.
  16. I've got one of those too.
  17. Errr, I know enough to know it's the "England and Wales Cricket Board" that gets suspiciously truncated to ECB... and that Glamorgan isn't a real county...
  18. Not only would I have had to have been there, I'd have had to have had (yikes, that's quite a sentence) some inclination about the nuances of cricket to know what the hell he's going on about.
  19. Not... football... Does... not... compute...
  20. And a major factor in our failure to rise above perennial strugglers in the vast majority of the first 9 years of the Premier League era. At least doubling our income in 2001/2 gave us a chance for a bit...
  21. I know the feeling...
  22. I went to get some daffodils from a roundabout but they didn't have any. Then I bought some but the sheep ate them. Etc.
  23. It's aboot Canadaaa.
  24. Hmm, one of you hasn't been here long...
  25. It wasn't very imaginative, I'll give you that...
