  1. As it's a fantasy scenario, I'd imagine it as part of a global brand expansion and unprecedented demand for seats. To avoid pricing out a lot of the current fans we'd expand and be able to continue to offer the same prices. Hardly "beyond comprehension", there are plenty of reasons to expand the stadium, not least of which is our need to try and do better than 7th at some point and the top 6 having much bigger stadia - though that's mainly because they already have much bigger fanbases.
  2. 2 doesn't bother me remotely. 3, well, if we become a global brand it would make sense for the club to have something for people to do that encourages them to visit. 4 has been discussed numerous times before, good in theory but in practice difficult to achieve and not particularly beneficial, a 10-15 minute walk to a station is hardly a big deal for most. It would only be worthwhile if linked to additional facilities. Fairly sure most people like the badge so I'm going to say that 1 is more ridiculous than 5 - which in itself is against the rules of club ownership in England. I'd probably stick to a massive development around the stadium, expanding the stadium in a way that rear sections could be closed off for smaller crowds, developing the waterside area in the immediate vicinity so that fans have convenient facilities on match days - except that no-one's going to do that unless the venues get used more than once a fortnight, so I'd stick to building an O2 sized indoor music venue/ice rink in the vicinity of the stadium (how about buying out the gas storage and developing that back to back with the Northam end?) and raking the cash in from those. I absolutely could not care less about women's football or basketball, but the latter could use the indoor facility. But then so could NBA and NHL teams. Tbh I'd probably spend all my cash on a decent tram network for the city.
  3. What do you anticipate our fanbase will sing then? Children's nursery rhymes about biblical events? Folk songs from the West Indies? Electropop from the early 80s?

There's a limit on start time, end time and duration of actual match footage (hence all the blathering), though I don't know what they are.
  5. So basically you can't justify your argument.
  6. Well, the wife consumed a lot of alcohol yesterday so I took the opportunity of the first goal to run to the concourse for a bottle of water, so I couldn't say.

Usually is, though they'll always invoke the "big club" clause if there are multiple exciting, high-scoring games which do or don't include a big club. Yesterday every match except Man U had both teams scoring and all except Man U saw more than 2 goals. However, that also put them top, so a little more newsworthy than normal. But they weren't last...
  8. Our point up there was a decent result given their form at this time of the season. Won't look so good by April though.

The penalty was for Fonte's lunge which Neil Taylor leapt over and then fell on his face, I'm 20 rows back in the Northam and it was right in front of me. He didn't touch him but caused him to fall over with his reckless lunge (which btw is also why Targett's foul at West Brom was also a penalty). What was there to debate? I was pleased he gave it seeing as Eder had already buried the loose ball.
  10. Romeu has made a few dubious tackles including sliding through the back of people and they can easily become reds, whilst Wanyama tends to get his yellow cards from pulling people back or repeated fouling as he does a lot of leaning people off the ball and the odd shirt pull rather than chucking himself in. As such, Romeu is higher risk than Wanyama. The reason Romeu was on the bench was because we were at home to a team Koeman thought we could beat. It's becoming increasingly evident that that is going to be Wanyama/JWP, with Romeu doing a job in the games where we want the 2 DMs in front as we're expecting to need to defend and win back possession more.

Quite. As for "put the big teams on last", I'm fairly sure the kind of plastics who support those teams would just tune in later. Though there is a question whether this is a moot point anyway, so many people watch on timeshift now anyway, even on the occasions when I watch it on Saturday nights (which is usually when Saints are home if I've not stayed out) I don't watch it live, that way I can ffwd the talking.

"One goal with his left foot, one with his right and a header - I call that a perfect hat-trick". The bloke is as inane as he is insane.

Jonathan Pearce and the one who shouts all the time are infinitely worse than Motson (who admittedly fell off his perch as recently as the 2002 World Cup when he became obsessed with people having breakfast).

I would say MotD is fantastic. Except for the bits between the matches. Also, makes sense for the BBC to try to achieve the largest audience share, which is achieved by putting the most popular clubs on earliest. Also, Swansea are bloody dull to watch, as they have spent most of most matches passing the ball around in midfield for the sake of it, so fewer highlights in the first place and much more likely to get shunted to the end. Kinda like us 2 seasons ago without the excitement of the pressing and attacking swarm.
  15. NB Saints have played in European football in the past month, Milan haven't qualified for European football since the end of the 2012/13 season.

My commitment to that programme consists of ffwding the entire thing to the last 10 minutes to watch Newport's goals... usually conceded.
  17. Yeah, that song should be reserved for baiting Newport County supporters. FWIW I refused to sing it.
  18. It is a bit crap though, and very widespread already. "One Ryan Bertrand" was a "new" addition yesterday.
  19. Barely any different to the process for entering the US apart from the visa part (eg fingerprinting), and they've actually organised for the Russian Embassy to send two staff to Liverpool to assist with applications, so if anything they're getting preferential treatment.
  20. Ah yeah, now I think of it he was stood next to the substitution and it wasn't him that came off! Yeesh, drink. In which case, when Tadic came off for Rodriguez it shifted the balance in favour of Swansea attacking. I may have to watch Tadic's defensive work next time.
  21. FWIW, one performance isn't really any basis to judge his progression or otherwise, especially as that was probably the worst I've ever seen him play at St Mary's.
  22. Someone said to me "Cork didn't play did he?", to which I pointed out that he played first half and was replaced at half time. Yesterday rather upgraded my expectations of Saints' finishing position this season, the Leicester game will also be key in that early-season appraisal.
  23. It's more that the Under Armour templates are far less widely used. They're still templates.
  24. Clearly the idea was to bring on a second DM to close the game out. Which we did, though in doing so we also sat back and Swansea attacked with nothing to lose at 3 down. Having taken Bertrand off we also lost some of the quality - but none of that actually affected the concession of the penalty.
