Well, we'll be able to sign a player we expect to be better than Cork, anyway. No guarantees, which is one of the reasons I'm quite surprised at this turn of events, though you can see Cork's logic if he thinks he'll get more games at Swansea and a signing on fee, etc.
-
That makes no sense, obviously we need a midfielder to replace Cork if Cork leaves, Reed was already part of the first team squad with Cork in it.
-
I think the gist of it is that when they're both injured we don't have many proven defensive midfield specialists, at least until we sign someone else. Reed's progress is clearly why Cork's heading off, and probably also why Cork's contract offer wasn't confirmed until recently.
-
Transfer window doesn't close until Feb 2nd, we'll just stall until then, or sell him right after the match. With a transfer pending he's not that likely to be in the squad anyway.

With yellow armpits?
-
Probably because it's difficult to establish whether they're e-cigarettes or the real thing.

I saw one bloke on his way up the steps to the Northam carrying a bottle of lager at half time in the last home league match, a couple of stewards were all over him for the 2 seconds it took him to realise he was still holding it. I think he'd forgotten he even had it.

It has been posted a couple of times before, but deep in threads.

Nice. My UEFA Cup shirt is from player stock as by the time I got to the Megastore from South Wales to collect my Steaua Bucharest ticket in person (they wouldn't post them out) they'd sold all the replica XLs. FWIW, that means that mine doesn't have the UEFA Cup shield embroidery on the back at the top. Other than that, they're pretty much the same.

An adidas sash kit would give us an identity - we'd be River Plate.
-
Not that curious, the yellow shorts and socks have already been worn and are listed as alternates in the Premier League Handbook (unlike the shirts).
-
You're right that UEFA never use the apostrophe, presumably for branding reasons, but it should be after the s nevertheless. Things affect other things, and the outcome is the effect. A is before E, easiest way to remember if you're not sure.

Brain fart, 14 winnable matches.
-
Yeah it's a typo/brain fart, calculated it against games played not games remaining. Should say 14 and 2, 9 bottom half.

Although I saw somewhere that all international "loans" are conducted as permanent transfers, I would assume what would happen is that Inter would transfer Osvaldo back to Saints to loan him to QPR. I can't imagine how long it will take the Italian FA to process that, given their sloth over Gaston and Guly in the past.

Anyway, Page 10 here has the confirmation about Cup Runners Up that Redslo was looking for (along with all the other rules in a none-too-helpful format). Ignore the first couple of pages being in Spanish, the rest is English. http://kassiesa.net/uefafiles/2015-18-uefa-access-list-explanations.pdf It says: 14/15 Domestic cup winners qualifying for the 15/16 CL via the 14/15 domestic championship will be replaced in the 15/16 EL by the next best-placed team in the final 14/15 domestic championship rankings (not by the cup runner-up any more). A load of (well, 5) scenarios are also included in the bottom of this document.

I know where he's from, they're not American English differences though. Anyway, I stopped being That Annoying Grammar Bloke in about 2008 on here, so moving on...

I still don't understand why he stitched himself up so obviously by taking the Reading job when he had practically no chance of keeping them up and that put him back in the same position he was a couple of years earlier, in charge of a Championship side, except one with greater expectation, less money and where even in succeeding in the challenge he'd only have proven that he could do something he'd already done with Saints. He should have sat the season out after his sacking and got himself into one of the likely forthcoming vacancies at the likes of West Brom or Stoke, more established Prem sides much more likely to stay up. That way he moves from a one-time Championship promotion manager with 6 months' Prem experience showing signs of turning a team around, into an established 2-job Prem manager at a fairly sound club and gives himself much more chance of a third jop at a bottom half Prem club. He basically sold himself short and is now the bloke who got us up but couldn't do the same for Reading. As for his record at Scûnthorpe, he got them into the Championship twice, they're currently in the bottom half of L1.

Trying to get another contract somewhere and taking his chances on the medical without the perception that he's done. I'm pretty sure he could get a deal at QPR if his leg fell off, as long as he pretended to be about 5 years older. Not that I'm suggesting this is the situation.
-
Wait, so they DON'T want that 2008 FA Cup win now? Or is he saying that the money they never had and spent should have bought them more of a history?
-
Your head is irrational then. We've got 20 winnable matches, more than half of which are against bottom half sides, and 2 tricky away games at City and Chelsea.

Nice article, except the apostrophe in Champions (it should be after the s not before it, unless there is only one Champion in the League, which would be a pretty crappy tournament) and the use of EFFECTS, not the correct "AFFECTS" on Saints. You can tell it's good if I'm only picking holes in the grammar - and I've also seen something about the FA Cup Runners Up not getting a Europa League place any more too, FWIW. More of this stuff please!
