Mmm, I seem to recall a quote relaying that he said "it's finished" on the way to the airport, not sure why that was though.
-
Instead of signing for us, Young Boys sent him on loan to Koln/Cologne in the 1.Bundesliga, then he was sold to Ajaccio in France's Ligue 1 last summer, and only played 6 games last season, and now he's joined Club Africain in Tunisia, who (it seems from Wiki) are one of the top 4 or 5 clubs in Tunisia.

Just found this from the Championship Promotion season. Oh ye of little faith. Including me... Hooiveld turned out to be that "other" signing and interesting to see Jemal's name there.

It is 15 minutes. It takes about 5 to walk to the store and back.

On an unrelated note, does anyone else find "fantasy kits" utterly pointless and vaguely annoying ? Mock-ups based on actual information are useful to help people picture things (and sometimes help getting info out of ITKers, worked last year ). But I just don't get the point of sticking inaccurate adverts and logos on a non-existent style of kit, or brand/manufacturer that a club isn't contracted to and won't be wearing. Is it just me that thinks that's a bit weird ? Feasible designs, yes, just made up stuff... why ?

It's got lots of photos of lots of sports people. Having gone back to the pic, it is him, and was taken in the 1-1 draw against West Brom on 28/4/08. What is slightly scary is that he did play precisely 4 matches and I actually remembered that. Would have been 5 but he couldn't play against Sheff U in the "staying up" game because that's who he was on loan from.

I was thinking of new shirts, but suppose I should include it as I think we wore it in 2003/4. Actually I know we did, alongside the white one with the red chevrons going up to the collar with dark red shorts and socks. The blue/yellow sleeved one was 2004/06 as we wore it in both Prem and CCC.
-
I hadn't even looked at the players ! Sticking my neck out but I think it's Chris Lucketti, who only played about 4 matches for us at the end of the Championship survival season (and had a squad number beginning with 3, I think he was 37). It's more Saints than you though... I'd forgotten Surman had a squad number beginning with 2 as well. Was he 27 ?

I'd prefer amber and black, but black and gold will do... we've only actually had four yellow kits (and a navy/yellow one) since 2003 :
-
Nah, you're alright on that one, only unveiled today. Away kit also seems to be a different template, none of the other adidas kits have the "raglan" style sleeve seam up to the collar.
-
I think it looks pretty crappy tbh, aside from the logos and badge being far too big, and adidas not doing anything remotely resembling that style, and us not having stripes again this season...

New Hearts shirt, FWIW, straight out of the adidas teamwear catalogue : -

I'm not really interested in the brand either, just the design. Mildly perturbed that there's not going to be much mystery about it other than whether we'll have an unpopular red kit or a popular striped one (not this season), as the adidas templates are usually out there and well known as soon as the MLS teams launch their shirts in February/March. -

Only just seen that, it's not a Prem rule, it's a UEFA rule for UEFA competitions. Sunderland have worn striped backs for the last 2 seasons and so have Stoke. -

Pretty sure it won't be stripes, and that's a cheapo teamwear kit anyway. At the very least we're getting a half decent proper pro club template with a bit more customisation than just sticking the club badge on something. -
40, love the stripes, didn't support Saints until first moving to Southampton in 1991 though. Also love the Patrick Rank Xerox, and both the Denmark Hummel and the hummel regular stripe. Dislike the plain red Patrick kit with the shoulder flashes, which until the sash was the only non-striped Saints kit for about 100 years. Absolutely detest the current home kit.
-
Because they feel it is important that their lack of strong feeling on the matter is taken into consideration. And at the moment they're 4% ahead of "plain colour".
-
All of which were also striped.

Makes not the blindest bit of difference to me if they keep producing non-striped shirts. Wouldn't mind a red/white one of these for Saints though : -
Something odd about that Milan shirt - seems legit but it's not the same as any of the other adidas templates from this season and it's also not the same as the leaked one doing the rounds from months ago - though there have been a couple of "wrong" leaks around this year (notably Chelsea), so interesting to see. Basically all the other shirts with that side piece on them have a curved sleeve piece (eg Seattle), but the Milan one has a squared off sleeve piece as far as I can tell, more in line with a 2012/13 template or the "big V" neck shirt, but it doesn't have the curved side/front seam that all the other "big V" shirts have (including Milan's own away kit). I guess it's just a bespoke thing to do, for a big club (bigger than template Chelsea anyway!).
-
It would still look like a 2 year old template that we're not getting.
-
They lost the title to Porto, the Europa League Final to Chelsea, and the Portuguese Cup Final to Vitoria Guimaraes in the space of 10 days. Not quite the treble they were after.
-
I was wondering that, even if it's not nonsense it's still just speculation.
-
It's a terrible, terrible shirt, made worse by the fact their rebrand was for red and black last season, and are for some reason wearing red and white this. The reds don't match, the collar looks cheap (looks much nicer on the Newcastle home), the shorts just look like a mismatch and the white bits look tacked on. Our red kit might be crap, but at least it isn't going to look CHEAP and crap. Weird really, the Puma Newcastle away looks quite nice. Incidentally, Malaysia wear yellow and black stripes, so it can't be regarded as THAT lucky.

Added the hilariously bad Cardiff City home kit, removed Watford after they lost the play-off final, put confirmed kits in bold and added the confirmation that Saints are in adidas - though dunno if aap3 will still be sponsors.
