  1. I put it down to Villa having more stupid fans who'll actually bet on them winning the League, and therefore they've got shorter odds so the bookies lose less if the extremely unlikely happens. Of course, if you agree that we'll come above Villa there's definitely a handicap bet in there for you.
  2. Surprised we haven't had more votes on this, even the "don't cares" have an option !
  3. Probably because it seems so unlikely that a player would post a wind up on his twitter involving a current FL club's manager that a few thousand fans could be misled by "for a joke" (especially given that Beattie's new to the positoin), and it also seems so unlikely that he'll actually be playing for them. But one of them's true.
  4. They should be more worried about us going down : EVERY time we've been relegated when they're in the same division as us they have been too : 1973/4, 2004/5, and 2008/9. We've only gone down once, in 1952/3, without them also being relegated (they were in Div 3 South and we were in Div 2) and they've gone down loads of times without us (in 1938, 1980, 1985, 1994). So them going doesn't matter to us, but us going matters to them.
  5. Tch, who cares about mags with girls with their tops off, when there are stories going about regarding teenage girls watching rape porn with their boyfriends and then both of them acting it out with neither of them knowing that's not normal sex ? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/education-22643862
  6. Just put it in the airing cupboard for a day or so.
  7. I'm not sure what sizes they do (other than XL), but you'd probably be better off buying the original than one of those poxy half-assed retros, especially as most of them from the 80s are available in smaller sizes, either where they've shrunk or were just more widely available in S/M and kids' sizes back in the day.
  8. Well, so far all we've proven is that people want what they can't have.
  9. Cheers to the mod, any chance of adding Sash ?
  10. Edited to add sash to the list.
  11. In the interests of making Miltonroader07 look like the massive bullsh11tter that he clearly is, it was entirely necessary. Essruu didn't say when he went or when he'd be back, just that it was impossible that someone could have been talking to him in Sainsbury's. Plus in order to do anything about it, the person would have to know where he lived already, and be prepared to break in. In addition, I'm pretty sure that anyone wanting to burgle his house would have a fairly uncomplicated 4 hour period every other Saturday between August and May, which makes this information entirely useless.
  12. I think that's likely, except we've heard there are "white arrows", which could be either template. Same end result though. Booooooooooooooooooooooo. Very similar to Bayern's shirts (other than the diamond weave) otherwise. And that looks like a 1980s Man U shirt itself !
  13. I know there are a few kit threads around already, but I think there should be a definitive poll indicating whether Saints fans (the ones on here anyway), feel Saints should wear red and white stripes, plain shirts (that could be red as last season, or white), the sash kit which was so popular previously, or if they're not really bothered what kit the team wears. Mods, any chance of a poll with the question "In home matches, should Saints wear : * Stripes * Mainly one colour * Sash * Don't mind" Could be a useful pointer for opinion when the new shirts are launched. You may note that I'm trying to be as neutral as possible here so as not to skew results. A week should be long enough to get a decent cross-section ?
  14. Same template as Chelsea. I think I prefer the longer chevron down the side of the other template, but I hate the plain red anyway.
  15. I'm sure it's not occurred to him to have any kind of security or housesitter.
  16. It's got 680 posts like yours.
  17. I think it's a nice if plain shirt, but I'd hate it if Saints wore it. I really like the gold away, just like last season I liked the white away and hated the red non-Saintsy home. Same style, but you can get away with more with away kits.
  18. This is probably the best site for pics of most recent Saints shirts (though not all, those Patrick shoulder-flashes are rare). http://www.classicfootballshirts.co.uk/premiership-clubs/southampton.html?limit=100

  20. I've seen it online, will just have a look, meantime, just done an away kit mock in black/gold.
  21. Looks to me like Boro got given a few styles to choose from, none of which was the one Saints might be getting, so they had to have one with a bit too much white on it. Based on the description we've had, the Saints kit could be identical to that except with a red panel at the top instead of the white. The "standard" v-neck collars however suggest they might even be teamwear shirts. or if you like...
  22. Ha, that Winchester Rd house is basically opposite where I lived from 2007-2010, ridiculous traffic most of the time and you do get used to the sirens. Still walking distance from town but buses are surprisingly rare down Hill Lane. £180k seems cheap, sold mine for £250k though probably had a bigger garden and was detached. I'm in Hedge End now, would recommend somewhere near the station here if you want links to Winchester.
  23. There were two Patrick kits, the Xerox style (various sponsors) and the plain red with white and black shoulder flashes. I like the Prem relegation shirt (red sleeves) and the black 2001/2 away with red side flashes best. Both FP sponsored. My favourite yellow is the 2006/7 FA Cup Anniversary shirt, but I hate the unsponsored limited edition replica they sold.
  24. That SFC halo shield thing is utter gash and looks like it was created by an 8 year old. Wouldn't be surprised to see a monochrome gold crest on the rumoured black away kit, Adidas did that with the Stoke away in the leaks but their final shirt had their normal badge on it. That isn't changing the badge though, just changing the way the same badge is presented.
