I am "just" glad he's deflecting the bile from the true cancers at this club, or whatever it is I'm meant to be since whenever it was that happened.
-
Time to 'fess up, I actually completely missed that, because I was posting some crap about kits on this Forum from my iPhone. We were sat there going "what are they all applauding ?", and assumed it must have been the flag, though I didn't actually notice it wasn't there. So if the club controls its use, would I be right in thinking we're never going to get the chance to stand under it making it bounce and complaining that we can't see the pitch ? That would be a shame.
-
As an aside, have I accidentally wandered into the Muppet Show, FFS ?
-
There are in the Dell Bar.

Told by the voices. The ones that said "what this forum needs is more people completely making crap up to try and be funny".
-
Ha, people who don't know me now know me !
-
Wow, this is so funny.

Burley came in in early/mid-December 2005 - our first match under him (away at Watford, IIRC) was a bizarre mishmash of kids and fringe players (and Delap at CB) due to an injury crisis and a ton of players who with hindsight had obviously been told they were about to be sold not playing. Mills got into the side around the time and also played at Cardiff, where he looked decent, before leaving shortly after with the rumour (not sure if it was reported at the time or not) being that he'd made up his mind under Redknapp and Burley tried but couldn't stop him going. I'm not sure he was at LB though, pretty sure he played CB. I'll find the teams and see if we can work out how they fit together.

Can't say I'd noticed !

Definitely the first time for "interesting".

Welllllll, the difference is that delldays utterly made it up and knew it when he posted it because he doesn't appear to know the difference between passing on information in good faith and utterly fabricating it, and was trying to make a point (and failing). This bloke just passed off some nonsense on a feeble rumours site as his own information and might just be daft enough to believe it all. Heh, only just noticed I was mentioned in your quote after I'd typed all the above.

In which case I'd buy a load of England away socks from 2 years ago. As it happens I've got 25 pairs of them in the garage. This is actually true.

LOL. I do wish people would try to back up their arguments by debating the issues sometimes. Daren, I have every sympathy with your reaction to the terminology given your recent bereavement, but I'm not going to worry about criticism from people who take on the moral high ground and pass themselves off as representative of others ("nobody wants you here") even in the face of numerous messages supporting the right to discussion and a few who even support my none-too-popular point(s) despite the obvious hassle of being seen to not be blissfully happy with everything. What's also a shame is the constant playing of the man not the ball. I'm not a great supporter of the angle that this forum isn't what it was, but if it isn't, it's down to the failure of certain people to discuss the point, not the person making the point. As I've recently made a few of these people's lists, I'm fully expecting every single discussion to turn into some kind of personal attack from now on. FWIW I still think Cortese is good for the club on balance, but I don't like some of his methods of fundraising, the arbitrary nature of when it suits the club to be run as a business compared to when it's altruistic, or the ignorance of competent marketing and communication that underpins being run as a business.

I've answered this elsewhere, see if you can find it. Not sure I've ever worn the full kit all together at once other than the times I was playing for the Saints Innernets team against other fans' sides, or the one season we had a team in the Sholing Press League - and on those occasions kit was provided. And I'm not sure which part of "I bought Rangers away socks for a quid last season" feeds into your theory anyway ?
-
I wrote a letter to the club about that, timing wasn't great, we went into administration the day after...
-
I used to sing that at Newport County in the 1970s, does that count as northern ?
-
Stokes, Rodrigues and Blyth also have their badges in a different place to the others who have the same striped pattern...

I got that impression from the fact that so many people convinced are he earns his salary that he therefore cannot sleep and spends 24 hours at the club and makes every decision personally. Though more realistically I would think that the various rumours I've heard at different times about him being very hands on and various staff members not being particularly keen on this over the last 2 years due to abrupt changes of direction and plans would suggest that he does get involved with a lot directly.

As I said on launch day, JJB website has some Rangers away socks from last season in kids' sizes for £1 a pair - the only differences with the Saints home socks this season are that the feet (which you can't see) aren't grey, and the Umbro logo is white not yellow - it should at least tide them over if you still want to fork out for the "real" socks, or save you a few quid if not. http://www.jjbsports.com/rangers%20away%20socks%202010/11%20/umbro/shop/fcp-product/15601

As someone who was pretty critical of him last season, I nevertheless see how integral he was to the team and pattern of play, and the bit of me which queries if he has the ability at this level is offset by the FA Cup goals he has scored against Championship and better opposition. I think if he left we'd have to sign someone strong in the air but a little more mobile on the ground, or we'd go backwards for a while - you can't expect the team to adjust to 2 smaller more mobile players given the amount of "pattern of play" routines they do, and the inability of some players to think for themselves.
-
I doubt he was lying, but there are any number of reasons for the club to have done what he said they did.
-
Incidentally, in breaking news, my "source's" son got his new Saints kit yesterday. There have been no further conversations with him about Saints, only about taking a day and a half to sort out the garage. I did discuss the elliptical trainer I'm selling on For Sale/Wanted with another neighbour who turns out to own a gym though, didn't think that was worth starting another thread about.
-
He didn't say they didn't like being called 'Bilbao', he said they didn't like being called 'Blibao'.
-
I know you're joking, but they've only ever done 5XL as "standard", and they don't have anything above a XXL in stock at the moment, haven't had any delivered yet, or mini-kit sizes as of Saturday.
-
Home shirt is about the same as last year, when I bought an XL in long-sleeved and a L in short sleeved, because I found the sleeves on the Large weren't long enough. Same story this season, large fits me on the body but the long sleeves are too short so I got an XL. FWIW, last season's away kit was slightly smaller.
